We walked into the gymnasium and it was decked out! There were blue and white fairy lights every were. The DJ was a snowman called DJ Frost. Everyone was dancing and having a good time. Star's sapphire eyes shined in the dozens of little lights. I felt her grab me hand and she started running with me dragging on behind her. We reached the dance floor. It was all going great till we were all told to leave the dance floor. We looked at the music booth and saw Jackie handing the DJ a flashdrive. She gave a thumbs up to him and left.
"Will Marco Diaz and Star Butterfly pleaae come to the dance floor, this song is dedicated to you guys by Jackie Lynn Thomas"
We stared at each other and walked awkwardly to the dance floor. The whole room went black and suddenly a red spotlight was over us. Star looked horrified when the music started. (Play music now)
This was Jackies plan, to embarrass us, make us look like fools and just stand there. I shook my head and focused on Star. I smiled at her and grabbed her hands. I placed one on my shoulder and held onto the other. I put my free hand on her waist and it felt just like that night when we were fourteen. Nobody else mattered we simply waltzed until the song finished. The lights turned back on and we were left there staring at eachother while other applauded us. We laughed a little and went to go find Janna and Tom.
"Hey guys! Janna whats up with Tom?"
"Oh hi! And the music brought up bad memories I guess, I saw some of the dance you guys are really good!" Janna gave us two thumbs up causing us to blush slightly.
"Hey Tom, I'm sorry you had to see that I ha-"
"It's fine Star, I have Janna now" Tom smiled at Star and we all went back to go dance.

We were just dancing when somebody pulled me off to the side. Jackie. "Hey Marco! Here" she handed me a beer. "I don't drink anymore Jackie" I pushed the cold bottle away from me. "Aww come on Marco for old times sake! Just one little sip won't hurt will it?" She put the bottle in my hand. I sighed and rolled my eyes and took a small sip from the bottle. It was at that moment I regreted everything. I took another drink of beer and after about 5 minutes I had finished the bottle. I felt someone tug on my shirt and lips pressing against mine. I heard my name some where in the distance. When I was finally released from the kiss I looked over my shoulder. There I saw Star, runny mascara from tears and the little cheeks on her heart broken.
"Star I-" I fell thats what. I looked at the bottle in my hand, 60%. Fuck. I was wasted enough to the point where I couldn't walk. I watched as Star ran away but not after getting something thrown at me. It was a small silver ring. I picked it up and the minute I touched it, it burst into flames. I felt and arm rap around mine as Jackie helped me to my feet. "Careful babe!" She giggled over the loud music. "Why you little..." I went to slap her but she caught my arm and kissed me again. You fucked up Diaz, you really fucked up.
Star's POV
I was running through the party when I bumped into someone.
"Hey Starshine" I looked up into green eyes.
"Get away from me Alex! Or I'll...I'll...I'll hurt you!"
"Star I can see it in your eyes and your cheeks, your heart broken" He bent over and held out a hand for me. I stared at it. I wanted to take it so badly. But I didn't really love him, I never did. Even if Marco betrayed me for that bitch, I could never stop loving him. I smacked his hand away and glared at him. He looked dissapointed.
"You've left me no choice love" He taxi whistled and suddenley everyone looked at us. "I'm so sorry Starlight" he grinned evily. He snapped his fingers and suddenly I was cold. Everything turned red and my eyes burned. Then I heard laughter lots and lots of laughter. My instict was just to get up and run but when I got up I slipped and fell. I finally got away from the mess and I ran. I ran and thay was a fact. I should have seen this coming. Maybe and arranged marriage wouldn't be so bad. But how am I going to tell Mom and Dad that I don't want to marry Marco anymore? Why is life on Earth so cpmplicated!
