It seems absurd that just over a month ago I was ready to give up on everything in this country, stop trying and fail all my classes.
Then I visited Mumbai, Kerala, and met people who honestly changed my perspective of this world. Seeing the way some people live gave me a newly found appreciation for the life that I have the good fortune of living in.
And when I came back, it all started with a party. Walking in to a house party for what seemed like the first time, with one of my best friends at my side, was, now that I look back at it, the best decision I'd made in a while. I said hi to everyone, had a shot with my friend. Stood out on the balcony with the guys because they made interesting conversation.
I was cold, ok. I'd forgotten my jacket. "Do you want to borrow my jacket?" And for the first time, I notice him particularly, just taller than me, kind cute and very nice. I borrowed his jacket. I wore his jacket, and I liked it. No one had given me their jackets before. The interesting conversation continued, I had another shot. I went inside, but i was still wearing the jacket. Another round of shots. The music turned up, but I still remembered the guy with the jacket.
