I walk down the stairs in fear, the fear of the unknown. The voices grow louder and louder as I reach the bottom of the stairs."Hello Princess Heidi, my dear, how was your day." A prince asks me.
Here I go.
"It was fine, yours?" I ask him.
"It was beautiful, especially now that I have finally met you.", he winks. Gross.
"Well I must tend to all the guests, I shall see you later?" I ask.
"Most definitely." he winks.
I leave him quickly and lift up my enormous gown to find my mother.
I see her talking to a king who seems almost as wealthy as my father. I speed up and accidentally bump into someone.
The girl trips and I quickly turn to catch her. She faces me and her face takes my breath away.
"Sorry, I'm sorry," she mumbles quickly.
"Don't worry, its-"
"MAYA, GET BACK OVER HERE!" A man yells. I look over at the man and he seems old, like her father.
I feel her leaving my grip and she runs. The man starts following her but I press my hand to his chest before he gets any further.
"I do not tolerate such behavior at my banquet. If you don't mind I wish for you to leave." I command.
"Yes, sorry princess I will leave shortly." He says and he attempts to walk away, trying to follow the girl.
"You will leave NOW." I glare at him.
And he has the nerve to glare at me back.
I got everyone's attention, including my mother's. She walks over to me and this weird man.
"What seems to be the matter here?" She glares at the man. Good.
"I'll tell you later but could you make sure he leaves this banquet." I plead.
"Yes, of course. Guards!" She shouts and I'm glad.
Wait. What did I just do? I don't even know if the man did wrong. For all I know it could've been the beautiful girl in wrong. No it couldn't be, she looked terrified and no man should make a woman terrified like how she was just now.
I join the banquet once again but I keep thinking about that girl. What was her purpose for being here? Why haven't I seen her before? I hope to see her again, I have so many questions.
"My lady, I heard you had a little trouble, are you okay? Do you need water or anything, I heard you were shouting?" A prince, I assume, asks.
"I would honestly love that." I smile at him for his kind offer. I am seriously tired.
He seems to like that because he literally glowed. It was kind of cute.
"Yes-okay-I'll be right back." He rushed to get the water.
I smile at him as he leaves and I am back to my thoughts again. I look away and have another man in front of me. Seriously.
"How was your day, princess? I heard you could use a little rest. Want me to take you to bed?" He smirks and I just couldn't stand him already.
"This is why I didn't like men to begin with. You guys are like pervy animals." I say quietly hoping no one else but that man could hear.
"I knew that to begin with." He says.
"Huh?"
"Oh, it's just a rumor. Apparently you don't swing that way." He makes me more confused.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Your lesbian aren't you?" He asks seriously.
I burst out laughing and quickly cover my mouth. It isn't proper to laugh without covering your mouth politely.
"No way, sorry man. I just don't want to go to bed with douches like you." I say.
He rolls his eyes but I can see a small smile on his face.
"Heh, I kind of like you. We might actually be fit as friends." He says.
"Well I don't like you, no thanks." I leave him and begin walking to the water station, hoping that I will see the other man from earlier.
"I'm Jackson, by the way" He says from behind me.
"And I don't care." I say and wave to him without looking back. I continue my journey to get some water.
