Meet Laney A. fleury, 18 years old. She is an introvert, it takes her awhile for her to feel comfortable around new people. Even though she is an introvert, she is not afraid to share her emotions, with those she trusts and feels for. She has no direction toward her future, so she decides to take a year off of school. All her life all she's known is high school, and she is lost. its  summer now and her plan is to find a job and hang out with her best friend Ellayne Rose. She is very laid back but at the same time she is aware of everything around her. Her mother is a traveling nurse and she is barely home.

Ollie left Brooking oregon 4 years ago, and vowed to return only when fern desperately needed him.
Ollie's family is complicated and he has no time for complicated in his life. His parents were madly in love when he was younger about 3, and one day his mother left without an explanation, and his father refused to share any information. After his mother disappeared his father slowly began to fall apart. Ollie was left to take care of Fern, and when he turned 18 he graduated high school and his father began to act like a father again. Ollie was offered a scholarship to study in seattle, Washington. He couldn't pass up this opportunity. He knew he needed to go, but at the same time didn't want to leave fern behind. He told her it would take a phone call to ask him to come back home , and he would return to her, when she needed him. So he decided to leave and he hasn't been back since.
