Skylynn's PoV

I got onto a boat along with a really hyper boy who seems to be around my age. After I got on I realized just how many applicants there were and wondered how many would actually make it to the Hunter Exams. I also hoped my pale blue wig would stay on my head without falter because there could be some of the Zoldyck family's enemies on this boat, although that is highly unlikely. I then watched as the spikey haired boy jumped up to the highest point on the boat and smell the air. I disregarded this and went down into where everyone else seemed to have went. There were only two people that stuck out to me. A boy with blond hair reading in a hamok and a guy that seemed to be in his 30s who had a briefcase with him and had an apple in his hand. I adjusted my backpack a bit and sat down on a sturdy crate and stared at the wall bordly. Soon enough the boat started to rock a bit meaning that there must be a storm. Most of the people in the room started to get sick, well, everyone except the people who obviously stick out like sore thumbs. The spikey haired soon came in and started helping one of the guys who are sea sick. Not long after, the ship captain came in and said something that I didn't care enough to hear but it was something about the sea sick people. The old guy was also complaining about an apple he took a bite out of was sour and I was tempted to smack him.
"You four, come with me." The captain I assume said after he had taken his pipe out of his mouth. He smiled at us while holding his pipe close to his mouth. I nodded and got off of the crate and followed the captain to a room where the the boat is steared (I don't know what it's called) and had us stand infront of a map kind of thing. I stood inbetween the spikey haired boy and the old man, waiting for further instructions.

"So, is there a certain reason why you brought us here?" I asked curiously. Just because I'm an assassin, that doesn't mean I don't have my curious moments.
"Just askin' you guys a few questions. That all." The captain started and I nodded. He then continued, saying "Alright. Go down the line and tell me your names."
"My names Gon!" The spikey haired boy said happily.
"I am called Kurapika." The blonde boy said calmly
"The name is Leorio." The old guy said in a seemingly bored tone.
"I'm Coco." I said calmly with a small smile.
"Good. Now why do you four want to be hunters?" The captain said
"I want to be a hunter bec-" I started before the Leorio covered my mouth before I could finish my statement.
"Woah! Your not an examiner so what's with the third degree!?" He said/asked as I got an irk mark on my head. I then kicked him in his shin hard enough to bruise but not hard enough to cause bleeding or to break a bone. "Ow! What the hell!" He yelled as he held his leg.
"Just answer the question dummy." The captain said, his statement pointed towards Leorio.
"I will! It's because my dad is a hunter!" Gon started with a smile. "Being a hunter was the most important thing in the world to my dad and I wanna know why. That's why I left Whale Island!" Gon finished happily as the captian seemed to be deep in thought.
"I'm becoming a hunter because this exam is suppose to be challenging and I need challenges in my life." I said, trying to sound as innocent as possible.
"Hey kids. You don't have to tell that old guy nothin." Leorio said pointedly.
"But he asked why and it's no secret." Gon said calmly.
"Yeah, and I can tell him what I want to Leorio." I said and stuck my tounge out at Leorio.
"That's Leorio-san to you and get with the program. It's us vs him and I'm not telling him why I'm here!" He said while poking my forehead. This caused me to instinctively slap his hand away, and not lightly either.
"I'm afraid I have to agree with Leorio here." Kurapika said calmly with his eyes closed.
"That's Leorio-san to you brat. Show a little respect for your elders." Leoreo said angerly.
"But why not doudge the question by giving the man a plausible lie." Kurapika said calmly, opening his eyes and obviously ignoring Leorio.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me!" Leoreo yelled
"However, it is quite shameful to rely on decite. As for me, I cannot reveal my reasons here. I have my share of secrets. Deep secrets which I do not intend to expose at this time. That is why, I will not answer your question." Kurapika said and I smirked a little bit.
"Your not the only one hiding things Kurapika. Although we probably have completely different reasons for keeping our secrets." I thought to myself as Leorio started yelling at Kurapika.
"Hey Katso, get ahold of the exam committee and tell them we have 2 more dropouts." The captain said and Leorio and Kurapika's eyes widened.
"Well....This is interesting....." I said bordly as the captain started talking again.
"Still haven't figured it out huh? You see, the Hunter Exam has already started." He said calmly and I smirked a bit.
"It has?!" Leorio and Kurapika said at the asked time
"There are as many hunter wanna-bes as there are stars in the sky. And the examiners...Well the fact is they don't have the time nor the resources to go through them all. That's where people like me come in to pick up all of the slack..." The captain started before I zoned out a bit before I heard Kurapika start talking.
"I am the sole survivor of the Kurta clan....Four years ago, my entire clan was inialated by a band of criminals. That is why I want to become a hunter! To capture the Phantom Troupe." Kurapika said in an oddly calm matter and I couldn't help but wonder if he was telling the truth or not.
"It sounds like you want to be a blacklist hunter and the Phantom Troup is a class A bounty. Even the most seasoned hunters can't touch them. You know it's a suicide mission, right." Captain said to Kurapika
"Death is not amoung my fears but there is one thing I do fear and one thing alone. That time will quiet the rage in my heart." Kurapika said as his eyes started to turn scarlet before returning to their original color.
"So, what your saying is that you're out for revenge. You don't really need a hunters licence to settle an old score, do you?" Leorio said as I sat on the table behind us and just listened to what was going on.
"That is the stupidest question I have ever heard Leorio." Kurapika said and I know that hit a nerve because Leorio instantly started yelling again, which was quite annoying.
"Hey! That's Leorio-san!" He yelled and I kicked him again only in the side again this only caused him to glare at me and start yelling at me too, which was annoying. "Hey! You should learn some respect as well missy." He yelled and I only shrugged my shoulders.
"I respect people who respect me. It is something you earn, not just given." I said calmly as I leaned back on my hands bordly before Kurapika started to speak again.
"There are places where only hunters can go and intel only they can access. Actions only they can take. There are more reasons but those are the only three that you have a chance at comprehending." Kurapika said calmly, ignoring the fact that Leorio was getting angry.
"I might as well tell you the full story of me being here." I said bordly looking at the captain. "I am from the Rose clan and they were recently killed while I was away. This caused me to strive to become stronger and this exam will test my limits." I said, making my lie sound believable.
"Hey! Why do you want to be a hunter Leorio-san?" Gon asked kindly
"Who me? Well, it's pretty simple really. For the money. Money can buy everything you've ever wanted! A big mansion! A new car! And top shelve booz!" Leoreo said happily causing me to kick him in the side at bruising strength.
"If only you could buy class as well, Leorio." Kurapika said calmly as Leorio obviously was getting angry.
"That was strick 3. Why don't you step outside so I can finish off the last of the filthy Kurta bloodline once and for all." Leoreo said with a glare.
"You know, Kurapika isn't wrong Leorio." I said bordly as I stared at the ocean. "About not being able to buy class, you know. I guess it's just not one of your strong suits, Leorio." I said, saying his name in a teasingly kind of way.
"And you little brat can join us too. Lets see if I can get rid of 2 filthy bloodlines at once." Leorio said with a glare and I glared back at him.
"Take that back Leorio!" Kurapika said as I jumped off of the table instantly. I was itching to beat him to a pulp. I saw that Leorio had stopped in the doorway and looked back at me and Kurapika. "I said take that back." Kurapika said angerly.
"It's Leorio-san." He said coldly before continuing to walk out. I then went after him, followed by Kurapika. My blood lust was starting to become more evident, especially in my eyes. They started to go turn into a dull blueish black as the captain yelled something at us that I didn't care enough to listen to. I heard people freaking out about something but I was too busy trying to keep myself from killing them all.
'Illumi....You're the one who made me like this.......I will get you back for this.....' I thought to myself as hair from my wig covered my eyes. My hands were twitching a bit as I slowed my pace until I was behind Kurapika. We soon made it outside and I stood 2 feet away from Kurapika.
"Take back what you said about our clans. We will forgive you if you repent Leorio." Kurapika said as I felt my hands twitch twards where my weapon is consealed.
'You are a fool Kurapika.....I am not here because of that.....It's because of something I've been supressing for a long time now....' I thought as Leorio just started at us.
"You two owe me an apology and I'm not telling you again. I'm not repenting for anything, you hear me?" Leorio said as he took out a pocket knife. This signaled me to reach into the side of my backpack and pulled out staff, flicking it to make it go to it's full length. I then saw a guy go flying by us and, somehow, my blood lust seemed to vanish instantly as I dropped my staff and quickly went to catch him along with Leorio and Kurapika. Unluckily for me, I misjudged my jump and when I tried to grab onto the railing of the boat, my hand slipped so I ended up almost going into the ocean if Kurapika hadn't grabbed my arm. Next thing I knew Gon jumped and grabbed Katso's arms while me and Leoreo grabbed his ancles. We then all got pulled up onto deck by the rest of the crew. After we were on deck, I grabbed my staff again and condensed it, putting it in my backpack again. I then flattened out my jacket a bit. (outfit shown below)

"You idiot! If it hadn't been for us you would've been shark bait! You owe me big time kid and don't you forget it!" Leorio said scoldingly to Gon

"You idiot! If it hadn't been for us you would've been shark bait! You owe me big time kid and don't you forget it!" Leorio said scoldingly to Gon.
"How could you have been so reckless?" I asked in a serious tone.
"That also goes for you Coco." Kurapika said calmly yet there was a hint of irritation and worry in his voice.
"But it's alright. You caught me." Gon said and I looked away with my arms crossed, trying not to remind myself of it. "You three did. You each caught me together." Gon said causing me to look at him and see that he was smiling as he spoke.
"I guess you might have a point." Leoreo said as I avoided eye contact with everyone.
"Gon! Thanks so much! You were increadable! You saved my life back there." Katso said happily.
"Ya but I didn't do it all alone. Those three over there helped me recuse you." Gon said with a smile.
"That's right. Thank you guys so much." He said with a bow and I looked at him curiously.
"Please, no thanks necessary" Kurapika said kindly.
"It was nothing." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck sheepishly. I wasn't exactly use to people thanking me for saving their lives.
"Yeah, no prob. We're just glad to see that you made it okay." Leoreo said smiling.
"Me too. In fact, I should probably head back to my post right away." Katso said before running off. I heard Leorio and Kurapika apologising to eachother and looked away defiantly, not listening to what was being said. Then, Leorio rested his hand on my shoulder and I looked up at him with a straight face.
"Hey, I take back everything I said to you before. It was wrong of me." Leorio said nicely and I looked away from him with my arms crossed defiently.
"That's right. It was wrong of you. Hmph." I said as Leorio obviously started to get upset because I obviously ruined the mood. That is, until I heard the captain start laughing. I turned and looked at him curiously.
"You four are starting to grow on me so I'll make sure you four get dropped off at the port closest to the exam sight. How does that sound?" The captain asked and I couldn't help but smile. I then zoned out for a moment before I heard the captain say that we are all moving on. This caused me to smile even more.
'Killua.....I will redeem myself. Even if it means doing something as rash as this.' I thought to myself as everyone started to celebrate a bit.

A/N: Hello to anyone who actually read my story. Sorry it's kinda long but it's something. Also, this magical time consuming thing called highschool won't allow me to update quickly but that doesn't mean I will take 2 months to get a new chapter out, hopefully. It only means a week or 2 tops because I prefer to have this be as close to the anime as possible. Thank you for reading and good bye.
