Skylyn's POV

"It's totally dark out...'' Leorio said and I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah. 'Cuz it's been 4 hours since we started walking. The old lady said 2 hours....but you're so slow that you doubled the time!" I said and glared at him as we passed the "Beware of Magical Beasts!" sign. "You old hag...." I muttered as Leorio started to talk again.
"Another 'Beware if Magical Beasts' sign? Are we ever gonna make it to the exam site?" Leorio said and us three stopped and looked back at Leorio, who was throwing a fit.
"Leorio! We'll leave you behind!" Gon called out to him as Leorio kept complaining about having to use the bathroom. Kurapika then looked forward and gasped suddenly.
"I see it!" He said and me and Gon looked over at where he was looking. Up ahead was two rows of forestry with an opening that showed a house. We then kept walking and Leorio had finally shut up. When we got to the door, Leorio knocked on the door.
"Hello? Anyone home?" Leorio asked as he knocked
"Are they out?" Gon asked after a bit of a silence. I noticed Leorio reach for the doorknob and was going to stop him but he already had opened the door.
"We're coming in." Leorio said as the other three walked in. We all gasped in shock when we saw the beast, the man on the floor and what appeared to be a lady being held by the beast.
"It's a Magical Beast!" Leorio said in shock when it turned around.
"A Magical Beast?" Gon said in shock as we all grabbed our weapons.
"A Transforming Magical Beast." Kurapika started with his two wooden sword things at the ready.
"Kiriko. They can take human form." I said as I kept my staff held infront of me, feeling like this was almost too convenient.
"That's an extremy intelligent creature." Kurapika said as the Kiriko turned around fully, a woman struggling in it's arms.
"There's a woman in his arms!" Gon said, sounding a bit worried.
"And the guy on the floor needs medical attention..." Leorio said as he stared at the man. Just then, the Kiriko jumped through the window while still holding the woman. Me, Kurapika and Gon ran to the window as Leorio ran to the man.
"P-Please...Please save my wife..." The blue haired man said as Leorio started going through his briefcase.
"Leorio, we'll leave the injured man to you!" Kurapika said as he dropped his bag and jumped out of the window after me and Gon.
"Got it!" Leorio said as we left. We all started to run after the Kiriko that was jumping through the trees. Gon had taken the lead by following it's shadow even though it was dark. He then jumped into the tree while me and Kurapika remained on the ground. I could hear Gon speak to the Kiriko and then another voice was heard before he fell.
"Wow! He can talk!" Gon said as he caught up to us.
"That Magical Beast, the Kiriko, uses human speech" Kurapika explained as we kept running.
"Oh. That makes this a lot easier!" Gon said as he jumped into the trees again. I could faintly see Gon catching up to it. "Kurapika! Coco!" He yelled as the woman started falling. I sped up as Kurapika jumped into the air and caught her.
"He's so reckless..." Kurapika said as he landed. I then noticed Gon start to chase the Kiriko and chased after them.
"I'm going to go help him." I said before running after them quickly. I followed after the brown of the Kiriko. Gon stopped at one point and I looked around quickly before noticing it jumping again. I went after it just as I heard Gon start to run another direction. As I chased after it, it ended up turning and jumping down to the ground. I then used my staff to launch myself in the air and landed on it, pressing my staff on it's head to keep it on it's side.
"Now start talking." I said darkly as the Kiriko started to laugh.
"So you know something's up?" He asked as he didn't even try to get me off.
"Obviously. This is too convenient. Plus, there was no noices when we got to the house. You guys could do way better on your acting." I said as I flicked my staff to condence it and got off of him. I then faintly heard another one call out that sounded like the one infront of me but it obviously wasn't talking. I went back to the house with it, Kurapika, Gon, the woman and both Kirikos that Gon had ended up chasing.
"Hmm...how many years has it been since someone was able to tell us apart?" The male Kiriko asked.
"I'm ecstatic!" The female one said.
"Can you tell their faces and voices are different?" Leorio whispered to us two.
"No, not at all..." Kurapika whispered back.
"Now that it was mentioned, the voices sound a bit different but they look exactly the same..." I whispered to the two.
"You see, the one Kurapika, Coco and I beat up is the husband." Gon said with a smile.
"Which one are you talking about?" Kurapika and Leorio asked at the same time while sweatdropping.
"Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are the Navigators. Our family provides support for the Hunter Exams." The male Kiriko said.
"I'm their daughter!" The pink haired lady said
"I'm their son!" The blue haired guy said.
"Man, you had us fooled." Leorio said shrugging.
"The Hunter Exam changes site every year. It's quite difficult to locate it." The male Kiriko explained.
"So we Navigators help by guiding the applicants to the site." The female one continued on after her husband.
"Oh, that's how it works." Gon said
"But we don't help every canidate." The pink haired girl said.
"We test applicants to see if they're qualified to take the exam." The blue haired guy said as I saw Leorio straighten his posture from the corner of my eye.
"Kurapika-dono." The pink haired girl started.
"Yes." Kurapika said in response.
"You successfully used the most vagur of hints to determine that we weren't spouses. The hint was these tattoos which, in this region, mark a woman as single for life. Kurapika-dono demonstrated that he is very knowledgeable. Therefore, he passes." The pink haired lady explained and I smiled slightly as Kurapika let out a breath he must have been holding.
"Way to go, Kurapika." Gon said happily.
"Thanks." Kurapika replied in relief.
"Leorio-dono." The blue haired guy started.
"Yeah..." Leorio said, unsure of how he did obviously.
"You never realized my true identity. However, you dressed my injuries faster and more thoroughly than any doctor. Most importantly, you continued to reassure me that my wife was safe." The blue haired guy said and I had to keep myself from saying 'Look! We do have a use for Leorio to be around other than for him to annoy anyone away!'.
"S-Stop it... It's embarrassing..." Leorio said as he looked away.
"Your kindness makes you worthy to take the Hunter Exam. Thus, you pass." The blue haired guy finished.
"R-Really? Thank goodness..." Leorio said as he fell to the ground.
"You did it!" Gon said happily and I giggled slightly.
"Coco-dono." The male Kiriko said and I looked over.
"Hm?" I hummed and looked at him.
"You have showed that you are an experienced in tracking and hunting as well as using small cues to tell something is happening. You were able to chase after me even when Gon-dono lost me and you were able to sneak up on me without my knowing. You also knew something was strange from the beginning since you noticed that there wasn't sounds of struggle or fighting until after the door was opened. Your ability to draw fast conclusions makes you worthy to got to the Hunter Exam and thus, you pass." He said and I smiled brightly.
"You passed Coco!" Gon said happily and I couldn't help but smile.
"Thanks Gon." I said and tucked a piece of my wig behind my ear.
"And finally, Gon-dono." The male Kiriko started again.
"Yes!" Gon said and faced forward.
"Your superhuman physical ability and powers of observation make you worthy to take the Hunter Exam. You pass." The male Kiriko said and Gon's eyes lit up as I couldn't help but to smile. "We will now take you to the exam site." He finished as we all held both of one Kiriko's legs.
"Isn't it great that we all passed?" Gon said happily.
"It's too early to celebrate. We've merely earned the right to take the real exam." Kurapika said calmly.
"What's wrong with celebrating a little? We're making progress." Leorio said confidently.
"Honestly, you people really should think." Kurapkia said and I couldn't help but shake my head as Leorio started to get upset.
"Hey! Must you be such a smart-ass?" Leorio said as he started to move around a lot.
"Stop moving around! If you fall, blame yourself!" The Kiriko who was holding him said and I smiled slightly as Gon just started to laugh.
