Chapter Ten - Drink & Dares
Chris' Point Of View
I awkwardly coughed next to Callum, who was digging his nails into my side.
"No, I'll do the dare breaker," Callum said.
Dylan blew out a breath from his mouth, "thank God. Jessi told me she wouldn't give me any physical stuff for a month if I broke you two up. Dare breaker is to skinny dip in the ocean."
We all laughed at the Jessi bit, before Callum sighed and let go of me to sit up. He ran towards the black waves, pulling his shirt over his head as he went in. We watched as he jumped into the water in just his boxers, and as he came up for air we heard him cursing us out, but mostly Dylan.
We all laughed as he made his way back to the truth or dare circle, his hair a tangled matted mess on top of his head.
A couple more people went, one person had to eat a handful of sand (very painful to watch), another had to do a couple shots, and one person had to sing the National Anthem, before it was my turn.
Connor landed on me with a mischievous glint in his eyes. He leaned over and whispered into his brother's ear before doing the same in Ian's.
I played with the ends of my shirt nervously, waiting for what his dare was.
"Be right back," he said before standing up and sprinting away to the parking lot. He was 100% sober so I guess it was easy for him to run without hitting anything.
Jessi groaned from him holding up the game so she went while he was gone, "Ty kiss Melinda."
I didn't know who either of the two people were but they seemed to really enjoy that dare.
I laughed quietly at them as they walked off towards the parking lot together.
Connor ran back with a Thermos in his hand, his arm swinging and his smile cheeky. When he got close enough he held the Thermos out to me, "drink it."
"All of it?" I questioned.
He nodded, and I took the bottle. I didn't look inside it, scared for what I would find, and chugged it. It tasted like a mix of barbecue sauce, eggs, hot sauce, peanut butter and other unidentifiable things.
I suddenly felt a wave of nausea and stood up and ran to the bathroom that was on the boardwalk.
I stumbled into the dimly lit bathroom with cracks lining the walls and made my way over to the pathetic looking toilet. I heaved the whole contents of my stomach into the toilet, and didn't hear someone come in until they were holding back my straight hair from my face.
"Sorry about that," I recognized Callum's voice easily, "the dare."
I meekly laughed, "it's fine, I guess."
I took my head out of the bowl, wiping my mouth on a square of toilet paper before throwing it into the water and pushing down on the flush, the water taking down the fowl-smelling liquid with it. My head rested on the back of the wall and I started at Callum, suddenly exhausted from the night.
"How about I drive you home?" He asked, looking up at me.
I nodded, "let me just see if Macy's okay."
Opening a new text message I typed in Macy's name and started typing in the text box, - Callum's taking me home, are you going to be okay if I leave? - C
Yes - Macy, her reply came back almost instantly and I couldn't help but wonder if she was keeping her distance because of the whole "cheating on Trevor" thing even though he wasn't here any more... I knew it was a sensitive subject for her, and even though I just met her, she was the closest thing to a friend I had here besides Callum and the guys.
