I throw away my scraps on my way out the door. Jerome runs up to me, smiling when he sees my face he frowns.
"He didn't, tell. Did he?"
"He did."
"I'm gonna beat him to a pulp, and drink him like a-"
"Stop, you know you won't."
"Says who?"
"Says reality."
"Well..."
"Exactly." We walk away from my locker and toward our next classes. I have Spanish, he has study hall. Those are in different halls.
He looks back for a second and his eyes look like he's pleading with me, but I don't see it.
