Many many years ago, Baelfire had a life. With a family. A mother and a father. He was once very happy until his mother passed away. One thing he loved about Emma was that she reminded him so much of his mother. She had a heart of gold and was so sweet and innocent. When she smiled, anyone in the vicinity would stop and look, and her laugh was so contagious, that you couldn't help but laugh with her.  She also had beautiful brown eyes and long flowing brown curls that just draped down her back. His father was also handsome. Although, after the Ogre wars, he was never the same. He was gone for many years when Bae was young. When he was hurt very badly defending the children in the front lines, he was told he may never walk again. He was never awarded anything for saving anyone. Never told thank you by anyone but the parents of the children he had saved. He never did any of it for the thanks. He had done it because it was the right thing to do. And because of it, he may never walk again.

However, the day his father returned, the whole town rejoiced! He was a hero

However, the day his father returned, the whole town rejoiced! He was a hero. He may not have won the war, but he had won the hearts of the people. He was Baelfire's hero, and the look in his eyes was better than any profit he could have ever received. His family loved him and he was appreciated. Many years later, when Bae was about 11 years old, his mother, Milah, grew ill. They couldn't tell yet what had happened or what was wrong, only that she got worse with each passing day. And he slowly watched his father fall apart as each day went by, his heart broke more and more. Poor Bae, had to watch as his whole life fell apart. Early one evening, before supper was ready he heard his mother calling him from her bed. He jumped up and ran to her. As he approached her chamber, he watched as his father slowly came out of the room sobbing and held him for a moment. A moment that felt much like forever to a child.

When his father finally let him go, he inched into his mothers room. Unknowing the reason for him being there. She looked so pale, and her brown eyes looked like a rusty orange. She looked so tired. "Mother, you're unwell, and need sleep. Why are you calling me in here? Can't we talk tomorrow? You need your sleep..." He grabbed her hand, much like he did every time he came in to see her. Only this time, she placed her hand over the top of his, as he clasped her other hand tightly. "Mother, what is wrong, you are scaring me." She took her hand, and before placing it back on his, used it to tilt his chin to face her. "My love" Milah said. "You know I love you, more than my own life. Right?" Bae nodded and you could see the tears start welling up in his eyes. "I would never leave you, ever, if I had the choice. I hope you know that, and remember that forever. Promise me you will never forget that Bae, Promise me." " I promise mama" She took a long deep breath, and then coughed really hard, Suddenly gasping for air she grabbed her chest with her hands, while being forced to let go of Bae. Bae started crying, and calling out "Momma no! Whats wrong! Stop pulling me away, I need to be by my mother!" As he was being ripped from his mothers room, from his mothers arms, deep down inside his young heart, he knew what was happening. He could see that she wasn't breathing and ripped free from the people pulling him. "RUMPLE! SOMEONE GET RUMPLE!" You could hear people yelling for his father. Bae ran back to his mother, just in time for his father to get there as well. No matter how much they yanked and fought, no one would take him away from his mother. No one. "Mother, can you hear me mother?" The nurse that was helping to hold her up was slowly setting her back, but she had stopped coughing.

She didn't seem to be breathing either. With his father, holding her head in his hands, sobbing, he held his mothers hand as his head hung in sorrow. "Mother, you know i will love you forever, Please Don't leave me Momma... Please." His head fell down onto his own chest and he could feel his father grab him and hold him tight as they felt the grief wash over them, they cried in eachothers arms for what felt like forever.

Many years later, he would find himself in a very bad place with his father. Unable to take care of his father, he too eventually passed. He became sick, and since he couldn't walk either, because of the injury form the war was unable to care for Bae. Bae went a while taking food from open windows and fresh fruit from the surrounding trees in the forrest. One night, Bae sat at his window, and wished upon a star. Never telling another soul what he wished for... That night when he fell asleep. It was the last time he ever saw his own bed again.
