The first two months of fourth year had went by smoothly, despite the outburst by Lily and James on the first evening back. Now, neither of them acknowledged the others existence. It was obviously taking a lot out of James to not even say "Evans!" or to greet her with a smile only for her to roll her eyes and storm past or turn and walk in the direction she'd just come.

As for Frieda and Sirius, it was the same old. The tension between the two extremely high, but James had remarked that it was, in fact, sexual tension. That caused even more tension and annoyance with the two. Frieda was not the person to forgive and forget with ease. It was going to take a lot for her and Sirius to ever get along without wanting to rip each other apart.

Mare and Remus were okay. Not the best of friends, but also not the worst of enemies. They had never really discussed the actual term for where they stood with friendship. The two got along well, and didn't raise a fuss like the others do. They kept to themselves majority of the time. It was a strange friendship, but still enjoyed no matter.

"Good morning." James snickers as he sits down beside Mare whose head was planted against the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall.

"Hello James." She says putting her head up for a few seconds, "bye James." She says lowering her head back onto the table.

James moves the brown hair away from her ear, "SELWYN! It's time to WAKE UP!"

Her head shoots up, knocking James on the nose as she rises. He whimpers in pain as Mare caresses the crown of her head.

"You deserved that." She spits, watching as James held his nose, a larger amount of blood already exiting between his fingers.

"I did not expect that!"

"Well, you should have. The hell'd you think would happen if you screamed in my ear? Especially telling me to wake up........ My goodness, James. That's a lot of blood. Oh my Merlin."

Mare grabs some napkins off the table and begins shoving it towards his face, he grabs them from her hands and shoves them against his nose.

"Oh! I know what'll help! Magic!" Mare finally realizes, taking out her wand from the inside of her robes.

"No. No. No. No." He rejects, "take me to Madam Pomfrey. I don't trust you doing magic on me."

Mare puts her hands on her hips, still seated, putting her lips in a thin line before asking: "and why not?"

"Less talking and more taking me to the infirmary!"

"Fine, fine! Geez, James."

The duo of messy hair got strange looks as they rushed through the corridors and up the stairs to the infirmary. Blood was running down James' robes at this point and Mare was frustrated because James kept whining that he had a Quidditch game and a broken nose would ruin that for him.

"James, sweetie, I'm pretty sure a broken nose isn't going to prevent you from playing a Quidditch game." Mare hisses as the enter the hospital wing.

Madam Pomfrey spins around at the commotion, seeing James and Mare standing there awkwardly. She rushes over, making James move his hands from his face.
