Chapter 11- Late Night Talks

Annie's P.O.V
   "So what's up?" I asked Hayden after we sat down. "I know what I'm gonna tell you is kinda stupid but no one cares when I told them about this." Hayden said. "By no one do you mean Katie." I said. "Yeah." Hayden said. He looked down at the ground. "So are you gonna tell me?" I asked. "Oh yeah um do you remember the dog that I got when I was 12? His name was Theo." Hayden said. I remember that dog. It was Hayden's favourite. "Yeah! He is so cute!" I said. "How's he doing?" I asked. "Annie, he passed away this morning." Hayden said. I felt so bad. I knew how much Hayden loved that dog. I looked over at Hayden. I could see tears slowly run down his face. Then he looked at me. "Oh Hay, I'm so sorry." I said. I went over to Hayden and gave him a hug. "And then to make matters even worse, Kate said that it was just a dumb dog that should've died a long time ago and I should care about her more." Hayden said. I stood up and walked down the porch stairs. "Where are you going?" Hayden asked. "To slap this bitch." I said. "Annie no. I love her." Hayden said. He loves her. Woah love is a strong word. That just broke my heart. I walked back up the stairs and stood in front of Hayden. I looked him in the eyes. I could clearly see he was hurt. "Why haven't you already broken up with her yet? She clearly doesn't care about you! She only cares about her reputation! Anyone who knows you well enough knows that you loved that dog more than anything. That he was your best friend when your best friend wasn't around. Any one who cares about you and your feelings would tell you everything will be alright and they'd help you through this rough time! Not say that it was a dumb dog! Hayden, you clearly oblivious to the fact that she doesn't care! She doesn't love you when you love her. She's only dating you because you're hot! She won't be there for you 24/7. She won't even care if you become homeless. As long as she says she dating someone on the football team she'll be fine. And let me tell you, when she goes and fucks up and breaks your heart, I'll be here for you, I'll be here to give you all the love you need. But until then, go ahead and continue being in this shit relationship that's one sided. Go ahead and keep getting hurt." I said. I stopped and took a breath. I said that really fast. I had to process what I said. Wait. I just told Hayden that he's hot and I technically said I loved him. Fuck. Hayden stared at me. Probably processing what I just said. Then he smirked. "So I'm hot uh?" He said and laughed. "No I didn't say that." I can feel my face burning up. "Yeah you did." Hayden said. "Are you dumb? No I didn't." I told him. "Are you dumb? You're the one who doesn't know what they said." Hayden said. "No." I said. "Oh come on Annie admit it." Hayden said. "I have to go inside." I said. I opened the door. "Wait Annie." Hayden said. He grabbed my arm. I turned around. "Thank you." He said and pulled me into a hug. "Any time." I said. I smiled and walked inside.

"That was the cutest shit I've ever seen." Kenzie said when I closed the door. "Im going to go cry that was so cute." Jayden said. I laughed. "So maybe like we can force Hayden to break up with Katie and the han-" I cut Kenzie off. "Not happening." I said. We decided to to order pizza and watch Cinderella. When the movie finished, we went to bed.
