My name is Katie Stromberg, I am 17. I have a little brother that is 4 years old. His name is Tyler. I moved to Long Beach, Washington because my dad got a better paying job. I used to be the quiet girl but after I moved I wanted to start new and be who I wanted to be.
I woke up Monday morning at 5:30, must I say worst idea ever. I got ready, I'm kind of a plain person, I don't do the curls and a lot of makeup. I am also not a big fan of dresses or skirts. Anyways, by the time I got done getting ready my mom was already in the car.
I got to school. I was nervous, I mean a new school junior year. My mom said what any other mom would say,
"Everything is going to be fine."
With that I hugged her and said,
"Everything will be fine because I'll make it fine"
I got out of the car and walked toward the gates. Wow big school. I made it to my first class, English. The teacher was a lady in her early 30's. She sounded nice. I sat in the middle row, I guess a lot of people had the same idea. They don't want to be a goody goody sitting in the front and not a bad kid in the back. She passed out the syllabus paper.
We were about 7 minutes into class and the door opened. A guy walked in and he had brownish hair in a quiff like style and rayband sunglasses. The teacher didn't look so happy. He walked in an apologized for being late. And she dropped it. He walked to the desk next to me, sat down and smiled. I returned gesture.
About half way into class, he introduced himself,
"Hey what's up? I'm Jake Miller"
"Hi I'm Katie" I said
I couldn't believe he actually talked to me. Guys didn't really talk to me at my old school, I guess because I wasn't a social person. I'm not now either actually. I would like to be, I'm hair always worried of what people would think of me.
Jake asked, "Are you new here at Warrenton?"
"Yeah I actually just moved here on Saturday" I replied
"Oh man junior year and a new school, that must suck" Jake said
"Yep, but I think I can make it" I smiled
The bell rang and Jake offered to walk me to my next class. He seemed like a nice guy. This could be a good start...or a bad one, who knows it's high school.
