3. A Secret?

It's 4th period, science, I walked into class and someone called my name

"Hey Katie!" Michael said,

Oh great...do I ignore him or play it off?

"Hi, Michael was it?" I replied, I know I shouldn't be talking to him.

"Come sit down next to me...maybe we can get to know each other better?" He questioned.

"Umm I don't think that's a good idea considering what happened this morning" I said.

"I could explain if you would like?" Michael said with an unsure smile.

Okay should I go with it or turn him down? Ugh, fine.

"Okay, fine" I said.

He just smiled as I sat down.

"Care to explain now?" I insisted

"Okay okay, so Jake and I are friends, have been for about 4 years now. In 10th grade we were in the "popular" group and Jake threw a huge party and everyone was there, and I mean everyone, from the jocks to the wallflowers. Anyways, Jake had his eye on a girl and he went over and gave her a drink with Lyrinia in it, if you don't know what that is, it is a pill that boosts a women's sex drive. Jake took her upstairs and had his way with her but as I walked by the room I heard her screaming for him to stop so I opened the door and pulled him back off of her and pushed him against the wall as she pulled the sheet up to her chest and pushed her self against the backboard of the bed. Until that day we vowed never to speak of it and he apologized and she forgave him, but I just don't want you to get hurt by him, okay? You are better off with someone else...like me?" Michael explained

"Wow" is all I could say, is he really telling the truth? I have to ask Jake about this. Michael just doesn't send off a good vibe...

The bell rang and Michael said,

"Think about?"

And I replied with "okay" and walked out of the classroom.

Jake was waiting by a tree for me..I don't know if I should ask him or not. I mean he said he couldn't tell me now that I met Michael. What does that mean?...I think I'll ask him.

"Hi Jake" I smiled

"Hey how was science?" Jake asked

"....it was...good" I hesitated

"You hesitated. What's wrong?" Jake asked

"Umm do you mind me asking you a personal question" I requested

"Uh yeah sure go for it." Jake replied.

"So Michael-" I said as Jake cut me off

"Michael is in your science class isn't he?!"

"Yeah he is." I replied

"Okay okay what did he tell you?" Jake asked

"He said you...raped a girl..." I said quietly

"WHAT No! I would never, he did it, he gave her some pill and took her to the room upstairs and tied her to the bed and did horrible things to her! I had to run in there and punched him and he fell to the floor. I untied her and covered her with the blanket..and I walked over to Michael and called him an asshole and then I...I-I sorta gave him what he deserved. But I'm not a harmful guy! I wouldn't take advantage of a girl! The way she looked at him the way the look on her face was filled with fear when I cover her up... I couldn't imagine how horrible that felt, he did apologize, she didn't accept, I figured she wouldn't." Jake explained.

"I-I...I'm sorry, I didn't know! I wasn't trying to accuse you of it I just wanted to hear your side!" I explained back.

Oh my god, that's horrible I can't even imagine if that was me...Michael is a dick.

"It's alright you didn't know." Jake comforted.

"Why are you still friends with Michael after all of this?" I asked

"As much as I hated him, I had to put that aside because if I wasn't friends with him, my dad would have no job, because Michael's dad owns the golf course down by 42nd street. My dad works there as a golf chart worker that a patrols the course." He explained

"I- I don't even know what to say" I replied. I can't believe what Michael did, it literally breaks my heart. Jake seems so upset as well.

"You don't have too" Jake gabbed my hand. He gave me his number during lunch, and we sat by a tree the whole lunch talking about our families and stuff.

It's 6th period now, man today has been quite the day...I'm still stuck on the Michael thing...who would do something like that? My phone kept vibrating, probably twitter, I checked it and there was one message:

Hey, do you wanna come over tonight? -Jake

Hmmm should I? I think I shall..

Yeah, that sounds cool what time? :) -I replied

After school? Or is that to soon? -Jake

That sounds good to me, meet me by the tree?

Okay babe :* -Jake

My heart is racing I can't wait for this class to end...
