                                                                                 Aaron

That was terrifying. But I had to get answers. I remember way more than I had let on, and I was ready to fight. I was done with these people controlling my life and telling me who to be and where to go. I was done. I needed a plan and Sam was going to give that to us, even if we had to train on our own.

I tucked Abigail into bed, kissing her on the forehead when I knew she had fallen asleep. After that, I cracked my neck, shook my shoulders, and marched into Sam’s office. I walked in to see him hunched over his desk with his hands clasped behind his head.

I cleared my throat and he jumped, “Jesus kid don’t do that in a situation like this,” He clutched his chest and shook his head.

“I- I’m sorry,” I stuttered. So much for sounding bold and persuasive. No, it wasn’t too late,” I need to talk to you about something.” I straightened my posture. This meant too much, and I wasn’t going to give up.

Sam raised his eyebrows, crossed his legs, and turned to me, waiting for what I might say.

I cleared my throat, the nervousness coming back, “We- I need more information. A plan, if you will,”

Sam shook his head and let out a laugh, “ You are your father’s son, you persistent little shit,” He got up and motioned for me to follow him down the hallway. This place was like a freaking anthill. How did it have this much space if just looked like a little shack from the outside?

I followed him down a long hallway, down a small flight of stairs, and up to two large metal doors with a keypad next to them. He punched in the digits and I heard the lock click open. My mouth dropped at the sight of the technology in the room. It was Iron Man’s wet dream.

He led me over to a large metal table that had a laptop and a ton of paperwork. There were seven manila folders laid neatly in a line across the top, each with a stamp labelled ‘Classified’.

“What are these?” I asked, touching the folders with my fingertips.

“They’re the files of the Titanium plan,” Sam said, leaning against the wall and folding his arms,” Two top Russians recruited select people from around the U.S to execute a plan that was made nearly nine years ago. The original file was compromised by Richard, er, your father, but it was only partial. We only have part of the information, but enough to get us started.”

I winced at the mention of my father, but I let it slide over me, “Do I dare ask what these parts of the plan say?” I inquired.

“Well, It starts with where we’re headed tomorrow,” He walked over to a map that was laid out on a table near us, stopping his finger as it hovered over Illinois, “Chicago. Our first major alliance that we need to take out, the first piece of the puzzle, whatever you prefer really.”

“What’s in Chicago?”

“Louisa Marlowe,”

I leaned forward and raised my eyebrows. He got the hint.

“We have a profile on her. Short, petite little blonde thing. She controls a business called ‘Slot Machine’ cleverly named as it provides land spaces for businesses, restaurants, etcetera. She controls most of the, well, everything in the downtown Chicago area, land lording all the space. This part of the plan says she keeps close watch on a high security bank nearby. No other banks have so much security, which draws attention as she has a piece of the new Titanium that we don’t hidden in there, The real problem is her dumb and dumber body guards. My guess is she is paranoid as hell and can't defend herself. Funny how they put the weakest protector over the most valuable piece.”

I slid my hand over the back of my neck to shift some of the pain away from training. This was a lot, but this was my new life, I’d have to accept the stress somehow, “Okay, so what do you propose we do to break in? What’s Abby and I’s part?”

Sam smiled, as if I were never going to ask, “Let’s just say you won’t be Aaron Metz or Abigail Wrensworth 24/7,” A smile crept up onto his face.

“New identities?”

“A total makeover. Any requests?”

I couldnt help but smile. This was going to be awesome, a totaly adrenaline rush, exactly what I have been waiting for.

"When do we leave again?"
