Chapter 10 – Maxwell's Heart

"Alright everyone, these are the blueprints, Maxwell stole for us." Matthew spoke as he unfurled them.

"How did he get these?" Harlee asked, looking over the elaborate designs.

"Maxwell has his methods, I am sure." Dahlia spoke.

"I would imagine, they are similar to my own methods." Almalexia commented.

"Have sex with random strangers, until you happen upon someone, who has them on their person?" Harlee teased.

"I was going to suggest, he put on a nice suit and used some old fashioned charm, although seduction is also rather effective. Believe me, Maxwell excels at getting what he wants, using such methods. You should try it some time. You're bound to eventually find someone who is into effeminate men." Almalexia smiled. Harlee smiled back at her and shook her head.

"You caddy bitch." She said, to which the succubus laughed.

"Likewise. Maybe that is why we get along so well." They both laughed, while everyone else stared in confusion.

"At any rate," Matthew continued. "If we continue to study these, we will be able to predetermine our points of entry. Now I believe," he spoke as he flipped to the pages, detailing the basement floors and the other buildings on the grounds. "The fighters' pit, located on floor B2, of this building, is where I suspect they will have the live fights. It is connected to the main building, through a lone access point, so it is worth considering as an access point. Any questions?" Matthew asked. Nobody spoke up, prompting Matthew to continue showing points of interest on the map.

Nearly an hour later, Matthew moved on, to tend to the morning worship. Leaving the blueprints out for the others, they continued to pour over them in study as John remained on standby, eating leftover pie he had hoarded. Harlee and Dahlia made notes, regarding the blueprints, as John stood behind them.

"Is there any pie left?" Harlee asked, having taken notice to his constant chewing. John shook his head, "no," but his eyes betrayed him.

"John?" Harlee said. "Are you not being honest with me?" As she asked, she heard a slight commotion from down the hall.

"Lexi, I've told you before. That is none of your concern." Maxwell grumbled as they walked down the hall, leading from his bedroom. "It is nothing against you, nothing against her or anyone else. It is a topic, which I simply do not wish to discuss." He continued as he opened the refrigerator and looked inside. Almalexia turned, noticing Harlee.

"What about her?" She asked, pointing towards Harlee. "You let her see your heart. You told her about the rosary. Why not tell her?" Harlee and Dahlia both began to grow nervous, unsure of what they were witnessing.

"I didn't show her my heart. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. I am not debating this anymore." He began to walk away.

"Maxwell. I have been by your side for how many decades? How much more, will it take for you to move on?" Almalexia asked.

"I can't." Maxwell yelled. "Not while Grey still has them! Not even for a second, can I escape the thought of what he is doing to them! Even after they are free, maybe never!"

"Is there no room in your heart for another?" Almalexia asked.

"You cannot have her place!" He growled and walked away, leaving her. She turned, seeing Harlee and Dahlia, averted her gaze.

"Almalexia, are you alright?" Harlee asked as the tearing woman walked by.

"It's that woman, again." She spoke firmly. "She's been gone, nearly two hundred years and yet she still haunts him."
