Silence

I didn't know silence could be so loud
When the sun stretches down for his nap and the moon wakes up from his and all you hear is the soft cricket cricket
I didn't know silence could be so loud
When the grass has dew crystallizing on it and the sun decides it's time to get up and all you hear is the soft chirp chirp
I didn't know silence could be so loud
When the boy in the back of the class whispers to himself and the girls all giggle quietly while the teacher sits proudly on his throne ignoring it all
I didn't know silence could be so loud
When the man on the corner holds a sign and you pass by without a second glance of what his future might hold
I didn't know silence could be so loud
When you sit quietly in your desk, zipping your lips because you didn't want to offend someone
I didn't know silence could be so loud
When you have the best news anyone could have the pleasure of hearing and you sit there, holding your tongue
I didn't know silence could be so loud
When your silence could mean the future between eternal life or eternal suffering, why would you stay silent?
I didn't know silence could be so loud
Your silence could mean the world of a difference for one person, so why stay silent?
I didn't know silence could be so loud
The silence you leave for someone else to fill will only grow wider and wider so... Why not you? Silence is the biggest noise when it means life or death.
I didn't know silence could be so loud
The good news of Jesus is life or death for thousands, but if you can change the life of even one, are you making a difference?
I didn't know silence could be so loud until there was none
