Chapter One:

16 years later:

"Melody, hurry up!" My best friend Lilly yelled at me from down below.

"I'm coming, I'm coming! Sheesh." I yelled back, blowing hair out of my eyes, " I'm going as fast as I can."

Packing. That's right packing.

My friends and I made plans to celebrate my eighteenth birthday on Mystic Isle. The plan was made during our senior year, but that's all said and done now. We have graduated and it's the summer so really, when thinking about it, it's the perfect time to go.

I have to add that my birthday is less than a month away yet my wonderful, amazing friends wanted to spend the whole summer there.

Hence all of the packing.

Once I was done packing and making sure I had everything, I walked down the stairs and out the door to join Lilly on the front porch.

Heaving my suitcases into the trunk of her car since hers was in the back seat I said, " so we are meeting them at the airport right?"

She glanced up quickly from her phone to answer me, " yeah, that's the plan, but if we don't hurry we will be late."

Nodding I shut the trunk, hopping into the passenger seat while she slid into the drivers seat.

Beep

Beep

" Was that your phone or mine?"

Keeping her eyes on the road she said, " I think it was yours."

Without answering I took out my phone and saw I had a text from Damien:

Hey, where are y'all at??? Harp and I are here waiting.

I typed:

Hey, sorry we are on our way. Took longer than expected, but we will be there soon.

Not even two minutes later my phone went off again:

Ok.

Putting my phone back in my pocket, watching the scenery pass by, I couldn't help, but think that this was going to be an interesting trip.

About twenty minutes later we pulled up to the airport. We heaved the luggage onto the pavement and then caries and rolled them inside of the building. Once inside we searched for Damien and Harper and saw them sitting down waiting.

" Sorry we're late." I said sheepishly, walking up to them hoping they forgive me.

" It's honestly her fault." Lilly rolled her eyes. " y'all know how she gets."

We kind of figured." Harper said.

They laughed.

I pouted, " Not funny."

" It is though." Lilly replied, sitting down beside Harper to which I sat on the other side of Damien.

Lilly was tall and blonde, her hair flowing down to her mid back. She had blue eyes which I was envy of and a model body.
