5 Years Later
Elias's POV
It's been a long time since I have seen Hayley.The way I left her kills me.I wish I would have told her a proper goodbye,but she wouldn't let me go alone.And I had to be alone.She would persuade me to stay,or worse,come with me.And it wouldn't be safe for her.She will have to understand.I had to protect her.I will always have to.
I see what they've made through the years.I heard about it.I came across a man,that told me he was miraculously cured.That the last thing he remembered was taken over by the illness and then waking up now.It was the thing that kept me going.That even if Hayley was alone,she managed to do what no one could.
I talked to Adam.Two and a half months ago.I finally got a hold of him.Told him what I had to do was done,and I was ready to go home.So now,I have everything I need.
It's the middle of summer,and the sun is shining bright above my head,sending strings of sweat down my forehead.I see the camp ahead of me,the walls tall,with watchers on the top.They are definitely not hiding now.It seems a lot has changed.
"Stop right there!"A newbie yells and the guy next to him places his hand on his shoulder.
"Relax Jamie.I know this asshole."I recognise the voice as Curter,and the gates open,as he walk out."Well well look who it is.You know this is the second time you do this right?"He tries to keep a straight face,but cracks up and opens his arms."Bring it in brother."
I chuckle and hug him.
"This is the last time man."I say and he moves step back.
"It's done?"He asks surprised and I nodd.He places a hand on my shoulder and his eyes are filled with concern."You okay?"
"I don't know.We'll see."I sigh and he nods.
"I have to warn you about something.There is something,someone inside,you won't be prepared for."
"I've missed her."
"Yeah.Hayley."He says like he knows something that I don't."Just don't faint okay?"I nodd slowly,and I shake my head at his stupidity.
"Yeah..Okay."We walk through,and I see some smiles from familiae faces,a look of curiosity from the new ones.I look at Curter,who is changed very much the past years.His hair are short,like he just joined the military,which suits him better than his old hair to be honest.Curter always had sharp features.
Selene comes to me,a smile on her face.That's not a usual reaction when she sees me.I can't tell if I should be worried or not.
"Hello again.Ilyass."It's all she says before I hear a familiar voice.
"Elias?"The sweet sound of her voice is like a lullaby to me,and I smile.
"Hayley.."Selena moves to the side and I take a good look at her.She has grown so much.She is slightly taller,maybe because of the biker boots she wears.She has a white tank top,a little dirty here and there,and some tight army green pants with external pockets.Her hair are tied into a ponytail,her eyes shining more than ever.
She starts taking longs steps towards me,and I take small ones towards her.
"You son of a bitch!"He says and punches me so hard I stumble back in surprise.
"You punched me!"I say startled and her eyes are shooting fires at me.
"And I'm about to do it again!"She stops mid air when a light voice talks from behind her.
"Mummy?"Her eyes go wide and she turns around,and in my vision comes a little girl with black hair and green eyes.
No way..
HAYLEY'S POV
"Monkey!"I say and kneel in front of her,taking a glance at Elias,who looks like is about to faint."What are you doing here?Indra!"I shout and pick her up."Indra!"I shout again and she runs to me.
"Sorry Hayley.You know how easy she slips away."She takes her from my arms,and I smile at her.
"Go with Indra okay?"I stroke her hair and she stares at Elias before she looks at me.
"Who is that man mummy?"She asks me confused and I shake my head.I look at Elias again.
"No one monkey."I look meaningfully at Indra and she leaves quickly.
"Is she mine?"Elias asks,officially out of his bubble of surprise."Hayley is she mine?"He asks louder trying to go to Indra but I push him back.
"You won't get anywhere near her do you hear me?!"I shout at him and he scoffs.
"So she is mine."
"It doesn't matter."I argue and his eyes go wide.
"Of course it does!I'm her father Hayley!I have the right."
"You do not get to walk in here demanding rights!"I scream at him."The last thing I want is you deciding to walk away again and break her hand like you broke mine!"The words leave my mouth before I can stop them,but it's too late now.I started and I can't stop.
"And I'm sorry Hayley!"
"And I don't care!"I laugh sarcastically,throwing my hands in the air."What did you think would happen Elias?You would waltz in here like you own the place,expecting everyone to wait for you with open arms?You left me!With a freakin' letter!A letter!I thought we were fighting to together but no!No no no you just decided I was some damsel in distress who needed saving!I wasn't,Elias.I could take care of myself and you knew it.But you chose to ignore it.And I'm done.We're..done."
I will always love him.And I know it.But he broke me.He hurt me in a way no one has,and no one ever will.And now,my daughter means the world to me.She doesn't deserve to love someone that might leave,leaving her all alone.Not as long as I'm alive.I will do anything to protect her,I can tell you that.
I walk away,everyone seeming to not pay attention to us,or are just pretending,so they won't get caught in the middle.My blood is boiling,and my heart is about to burst out my chest from this heated argument.Mum is watching me with a sad look but I just shake my head and move forward.
I get in the small house we have,Adam,Gina(Adam's girlfriend) my daughter and I,and I close the door behind me,leaning against it.I close my eyes,letting out a deep breath,my cheeks getting swollen before going back to their normal size.
"Well that could've gone better."I open my eyes,and see Adam standing in front of me,with his hands in his pockets.
"You heard all that?"I run my hand down my face and poor myself a glass of water.
"I think everyone did."He closes the distance between us and wraps his hand around my shoulders."Are you okay sis?"He gives me a squeeze and I force a smile.
"Yeah yeah..I'll,I'll be fine."I pat his chest.I go down the hall to her room,where Indra is,sitting on her bed.My little monkey is almost alseep,and Indra approaches me,her voice low.
"Hayley I know it's not my place,but I think you should let him be her father."I go to protest but she stops me,knowing exactly what I'll say."And I'm not picking sides,but Hayley,you are not just punishing Ilyass,but you are denying your daughter her father.She deserves to have one."She places her hand on my cheek before she leaves,and I sigh,looking at her sleeping body.I walk to her,planting a kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight monkey."
I stroke her hair,smiling to myself.
I know Indra is right.She deserves a father.All those times she was asking about him and I couldn't answer her killed me.But what if now she has a chance to meet him?To have a relationship with him.Maybe,just maybe,he will stay not for me,but for her.
If he doesn't,it will be the last thing he'll do.I can promise you that.

I think we all knew that Hayley would be a hell of a lot pissed at him😂And now out of the blue a little human popped out😂My favourite line is when Hayley screamed at Elias about him demanding rights.Haha I don't know why.
