(Elliots's POV)
I follow Savannah...and Julian. They're talking and stuff, but I'm the third wheel. She's a good agent. I can't tell if she's more into me or him. Some moments I'm like, "she's gonna choose me, I know it." Other times, I think, "nope I've lost this game." The latter is how I feel right now. She's never kissed either of us, to my knowledge anyway.
This whole "we walk out of the woods and into town," thing is getting redundant. Sometimes I think about this like a movie, "four strangers wake up in the woods together...a beautiful (and badass) girl, a young man with wit, an observant girl, and an over-protective guy. They learn they've left their normal world, because they know too much. The group is stuck together for a long time. Both men are in love with the girl. Who will she pick?" But, it's not a movie. In a movie, there wouldn't be the annoying repetitiveness, Belle would still be here, and Savannah would have chosen.
We walk some more, Savannah stops dead in her tracks. She spins around, "Look this is a bad time, but I've chosen." My jaw drops, "Who?" Maybe this is a movie, a secretive boring movie/reality show. She glances from person to person, "I was going to tell you last night, but then everything happened." Julian stared at her.
"I'm going to give you each time to convince why your better," she says. "I'll go first," Julian says, "Well, I'm your age. It's only a year, between us, but three years is way different than two. Right? And, do you really want to raise his niece. I mean, he doesn't get to choose if he does, but you do! And, I mean I'm a cop, he's a CIA agent. Like, you'll be lying to each other 24/7. At least with me it'll be one sided. And I think I'm more understanding. Your turn." He rambles.
He's kinda right those are all ways he better than me and he forgot a few. I open my mouth, "He's right. I love you, Savannah, but I'm not going argue with him. It should be your choice, not our points," I say. She smiles, "Well you suck at trying to convince me." I frown. "Actually, you both suck. Because my mind hasn't changed. She walks between us. And spins to Julian. No, no.
She touches his face, "I'm sorry." And she walks over to me. Wait. No. Huh? She kisses me, "I choose you." Julian scoffs, "What? No! He literally couldn't name anything good about himself! Oh, are you into insecure guys?" She pulls back and crosses her arms, "No! I love your confidence, but you are too cocky." He rolls his eyes, "Cocky? Cockiness and confidence is the same thing!" Savannah is not happy. "It's totally not the same thing! Confidence is knowing that you can do something, being willing to try. Cockiness is thinking that you are better than someone. So just shut it," she says. She turns back around to me. "Are you on your period or something?" He says. I watch her face go from unhappy to mad. She spins on her heels, "Number one, I don't get my period, I don't have enough body fat or whatever. Number two, what does me being mad at you have to with my ovaries?" He just stares at the tree.
She's breathing heavily, I offer my hand she just keeps waking towards the town. In a movie, she would have glared at him with my arms around her. But yet again, this is anything but a movie.
We march like soldiers into town, at Savannah's command. We find ourselves at the top of a large hill. Julian lies down on the ground. "What are you doing?" I ask. "I'm rolling down the hill. Care to join me?" He says. Savannah and watch him roll down the hill in a log position. He reaches the bottom and stands up, or tries to. He went sideways so much that not only is he dizzy, but he hit a brick wall. Savannah laughs and looks at me with determination. She tucks into a ball and rolls down the hill in a tuck position. She reaches the bottom and stands up cleanly. I tuck up into a ball, like she did and begin to roll down the hill. I guess my mouth was open, because I taste grass. I attempt to stop myself, but end up just rolling down the hill backwards. For a brief second, I see Savannah's hands over her mouth and Julian brushing off, but watching contently. I stand up near Savannah's feet. She's laughing. Her smile is contagious. "You okay?" She asks. I nods, "I had my share of greens for the day, but yes." She rolls her eyes and laughs. We walk to the capital building. She looks at us, "I bet they have more than one copy." She's right, it's not really something we thought about. Her faces lights up, "Oh! I know. We just tell them all of their names and stuff and threaten their families and stuff so they don't pass it." Julian glares at her, "That's evil, but sure." She rolls her eyes, "Let's go." Julian makes us stop, however. "Uh, I don't have a gun or a weapon that's updated enough to use," he says. Savannah, as always, has an idea, "Then you can keep watch."
He's not exactly happy to, but he does. Savannah and I burst through the doors and everyone immediately stops talking. She pulls out her gun, "Look, we don't want anyone to get hurt. But you can't change this bill." I point mine, "If you change it, you will regret it. We know your names, where you live and who your family members are. You less you plan to move and never leave the house again, I don't recommend signing this bill." Savannah turns and I follow her out of the building. Julian smiles, "How was it?" I don't get to answer before the world starts spinning.
