I pursued to open my eyes, wanting to be out in a relatively nice feeling. For some unknown reason, I wanted to go and replenish my solemn body out in the open, for I was having a lot of energy lately.

My eyes adjusted to the light, the bright sun lurking amongst the tall hooded trees. Surprised was what I felt when I stared at the ceiling, it was a deep shade of red. From what I usually remember, I'd wake up towards the bright light of the sun pooling beneath the growing shade of trees. But then again, something was off.

My hands felt towards the soft sheet under me, they were silk. I shifted my head from side to side and felt plump pillows underneath my head, and they were soft and comfortable, too.

My senses going on high alert. I don't remember a thing that has put me in this situation. I placed a hand over my head, trying to remember what had happened. But came with nothing.

I sat up and stared at the scene before me. I was in a very large room, I see two double-doors, one from across me and another from around the corner. As I speculated, I was in a mattress twice the size of a queen's sized bed with a roof around it.

Well that explained how I stared at a red silk.

To my right was a balcony, or so I think it was. It has a sliding door and a pink curtain to cover what was outside.

My hand unconsciously went around my neck, like it was drawn to it, and then I felt it. The spark that erupted against my fingertips, I jerked my hand away as if electrocuted, and the tingly feeling on my skin didn't subside until later. My heart started hammering against my chest with a very precarious feeling lingering inside me.

I touched my neck once again, this time I didn't pull back and the next thing I knew, fragments of memories from before flashed against my eyes. The deal towards Langdon to make me his, the sudden arrival of the King, and then;

I let out a terrifying gasp, "Oh no."

  —

My legs wobbled as I made a step towards the long flurries of steps of a staircase. It seems like being in bed for so long left me a handicap.

I continued to slowly descend upon the steps, trying not to trip over. Glanced around and then sighed. I had not seen a single soul from the hallway that I had came out of, and so I was starting to feel like no man is an island.

I wish to just scream, but I thought about it deeply and decided that I shouldn't, for I was in an unfamiliar place.

Anything could happen, at any moment, at any circumstances. And I wouldn't want that.

I finally reached the last step, my bare feet stepping on cold floor. I remembered clear as day to have passed out but I didn't remember changing into a nightdress, one that seemed to forget her pair of slippers.

The first thing that came to my mind was finding the kitchen. I didn't know where to go, the place was huge. I trusted my instinct and went to the left, my senses perked up as I could smell something delicious coming from straight ahead, and had been right.

There stood a lady in a maid uniform, her back facing to me. She was humming softly as she picked up what looked like baked cookies inside the oven and my stomach growled loudly. Startled, the lady turned around and found her eyes wide. She stared at me as if I was a ghost, tray of cookies, fortunately hadn't fallen of her hands, still held on tightly.

"I'm sorry." I said sheepishly, "Didn't mean to creep. I smelled something nice and went here."

"Oh! No worries, ma'am. I shouldn't have acted so startled." She replied instantly. Ma'am? What on earth, but oh well.

"Please sit. I'll bring you your meal." She said placing the tray on the counter, and I obliged too hungry to be acting modest.

I had waited for quite a while, my eyes roaming towards the architecture of the kitchen, it was pretty huge, too. A counter from the side and another, the stove and oven in one place and even the fridge that was like the size of the double-door that I had just stayed at.

The smell of cookies wafted through my nostrils and I almost forgot she had left it on the counter. Sneaking a glance sideways and found none, I inched a hand towards the tray and picked a piece.

The cookie tasted good in my mouth that I inched for another piece and another and so on, that is though, when I heard footsteps coming closer. I pulled the last piece and chucked it in my mouth, filling it with nothing but cookies.

The lady soon arrived with my meal and had a suspicious look on her face. I smiled innocently, with my cheeks looking like a balloon. Well, I was obviously caught.

She playfully glared at me and placed the meal that I had been waiting for since I awoke. I eagerly rubbed my hands together, and went for the utensils. Finally, I dig in, savoring the sweetness of the steak in my mouth.

"Bon appétite, regina meis."

"Are you going to answer that?" James asked Langdon who was in an intoxicated state, sitting behind his desk. James had been worried about his Alpha, sure he was angry and frustrated, yet he thought of his Alpha before anyone else.

It had been days since the marking of King Seaon to the lovely Stella. He didn't know what to think, but he knew deep down she wasn't Langdon's mate, but the connection that settled on Langdon to her was what kept him up at night.

Langdon ignored James and took a swig at the bottle of whiskey in his hand. James sighed and reached for the phone.

"Beta speaking, who is it?"

"I wish to speak to your Alpha." The other line replied.

"He is... unavailable at the moment. What is it that you want to talk about?" James stared at his drunk Alpha, looking like someone without a care in the world, "When the Alpha is out, the matter comes to me." He added.

"I'm here to ask, per say, have you happened to dwell on a female rogue?" James stood rigid, the phone almost falling out of his grasp.

"May I know the reason why you asked?" He said slowly analyzing his words.

"She has a debt to pay to us rogues." And a sickly mad laugh echoed throughout the line before hanging up on a frozen-induced James.

He knew there was something up about her.

I was full by the time I ate the last piece of fruit provided by Laura, which I learned to be the lady's name. I made a small chat while I ate and at the same her reprimanding me for eating the cookies. Said that I shouldn't have eaten desserts before a heavy meal. I only chuckled and enjoyed the meal, a delicious one at that.

Laura picked up my plate and started cleaning. I wanted to help but she wouldn't take any and asked me to explore and that was what I did.

Barefooted, I left the kitchen in search for the main door.

I only wished to be away as far away as possible.
