Darkness.

Taehyung can only see darkness as he feels himself aware of his surroundings. His eyelids are too heavy to lift up and his body unmoving. He can hear the beep of a machine somewhere nearby.

He shifts in his place but he cannot move without feeling pain. He forces himself to open his eyes, wanting to know what's happening to him.

Gradually, the brunette opens his eyes slowly into consciousness. His head throbbing and his hands numb. He felt like his body weighed a ton and he can barely move.

He blinks and squints his eyes at the blinding light coming inside the room, and he moves to cover his eyes with his hands, but stops when he feels there are tubes connecting to his body.

He looks around confused at the white surroundings. He's laid in a bed, and he can recognize the place even in his slightest knowledge.

He's in a hospital.

A sudden noise from the door jerks him from his daze and he looks up. He sees Yoongi entering the room in a panic state. Followed by a matured and beautiful looking couple silently standing at the corner.

"Taehyung oh my god!" Yoongi said exasperatedly as soon as he sees him.

"H-hyung?" Taehyung whispers in a raspy voice. He feels his throat was made of sand at the moment.

"Where did you go? You didn't come back for nearly a day! And..and this is what greeted me!" Yoongi looked like he's about to cry but the brunette knows he's holding it back.

"I-I don't know.." His eyes look away and catches a glimpse of his eye glasses. It was shattered and laid broken on the table.

Then suddenly, flashbacks of the events happened invaded his brain.

Jungkook's party. Yugyeom and Jungkook talking and kissing. Granny having another heart attack. Running in the rain. Car headlights. Then.. Nothing.

The aching in his heart slowly creeps in again.

Jungkook.

Jungkook didn't love him all along.

Jungkook lied to him.

Jungkook loves Yugyeom.

He suddenly bursts into tears as soon as the realization dawns on him. He cries heavily in front of Yoongi and the couple, and he ignores the pain on his side.

"Tae..pls stop crying. It'll affect your injuries. Let's talk about this some other time." Yoongi pats his back, he sets aside his own questions as to not stress the poor boy anymore.

The people aside from Taehyung just continued to watch the weeping boy. They waited for him to finish and didn't say a word.

"G-granny.. How's granny?" Taehyung suddenly asks through his tears. He looks into Yoongi's eyes, but the said boy looks away.

"I told you let's talk about this some other time. Its still bad for you to be stressed." Yoongi said in a soft voice. And if Taehyung listens closely, its slightly wavering.

"How can I be stressed if its about Granny? She woke up right? She's probably worried about me now." The younger said, his emotions are mixed and fear adding again. So as to not let his emotions get into him, he pictures his grandmother sitting on her bed, drinking hot chocolate while waiting for his beloved grandson.

"Hyung.. Tell me.. Granny's okay.. right?" He tries again, confused why Yoongi is not saying anything. Then surprisingly, a tear escapes his hyung's eyes. The older wipes it off with his hand quickly.

"Hyung! What happened? You're scaring me." Taehyung's lips are quivering. If something happened to Granny...

"Taehyung-ah.." Yoongi lets out after a deep breath. Taehyung's eyebrows are raised as if waiting for his hyung's words.

"Granny...Granny is gone."

"..."

The day went on after hearing the tragic news. Taehyung sobbed on his bed defeatedly, suddenly feeling tired about everything.

He questions why is this happening to him. Why does it have to be him out of all people? He was just a poor and simple kid, working his life off for just a piece of food. He gets easily contented by little things and never in his life he remembers hurting other people. All he did was give his everything to the people he loves and this happens? Was it not enough? Is him hurting wasn't enough?

Yoongi never left his side and just held him until he fell asleep. His thoughts put to freeze for a moment, letting his brain and heart take a break.

Taehyung wakes up awhile later to the sound of people talking. He opens his eyes and he sees Yoongi talking to the couple in hushed voices.

This time, the brunette boy wakes up feeling nothing, like his heart suddenly becomes numb. He stares at the wall at the other side of the room, face blank and emotionless.

Yoongi turns his head to face him and he smiles. "Hey kiddo. How are you feeling?"

No response.

The hyung sadly sighs. He moves to introduce the two people who were just standing there and not saying a word.

"Taehyung, this is Donghae-ssi" Yoongi gestured for the good looking man, "and this is his wife, Dara-ssi." Both persons smiled widely at him and gave him a genuine look.

Taehyung just looks at them but he can already sense that the couple are kind people.

The woman named Dara was the first one to speak.

"Taehyung-ah, we are sorry for what happened. It was our car that had hit you, so we're here to apologize and fix everything." Her voice is so sweet and friendly, Taehyung feels a sudden warmth in his chest.

"We know you're having a rough time but we're here to help you." Donghae also speaks with kind eyes. "With the assistance of Yoongi here, we paid the funeral bills of your grandmother, and we also paid your hospital expenses. I know this is not enough, but this is our way to show how we're truly sorry."

Taehyung continues to stay silent, but his head slightly moves into a nod. He hears Dara speak more.

"We also came into conclusion that you don't have a guardian now. And you can't probably work for awhile because of your injuries. So we have something to propose to you.."

The couple looked at each other for awhile as if making a decision together. Then they faced Yoongi to ask for approval. The pale boy sighs heavily, as if he's having second thoughts, but eventually nodded slowly.

"We've always wanted to have a son, and we assure you we are good people. So seeing you and your situation, made us come into a decision, that is if you would also agree to it." Dara said slowly, as if letting the words sink into Taehyung's brain.

"Would you agree to be our son, Taehyung-ah?"
