She felt a sharp pain, the ringing in her ears blocked out the sound, but she could see everything. She saw the look in his wide eyes, the look of complete angst and horror, as the blood poured from her body. She fell to her knees, her eyes started to blur, like she was a camera out of focus. They filled with tears as she struggled to look at him.

He broke into a run, feeling as if the world had frozen, prolonging speed, taking him a century to get to her.

She hit the floor hard on her back, still holding her chest where the bullet encased deep in her flesh, she held her wound so tight, like the whole insides of her body and life itself would come spilling out if she didn't.

He slid on the ground to where she lay, trembling in agony, sweeping her up in his arms, holding her like a newborn child. He clasped her hands together as she was gasping for breath, a few tears fell from his jaw onto her face rolling down her cheek, mixing with her own.
She was trying to speak but the words refused to form. She was choking on her own bitter blood.

She wanted to tell him she loved him, she wanted to tell him so much.

He looked in her blue eyes as the light slowly faded from them, leaving nothing but the emptiness of the thousand-yard stare, those pools of death, froze open as she took her last painful breath.

He put his forehead on her sticky shoulder, closed her eyes with his right hand, as his left was still holding hers. His grief and sadness soon clumped together in the pit of his stomach, turning into a fiery anger that bubbled up with a sick ache all throughout his body.

He slammed his fist onto the cold wet pavement, that was now stained red with innocence blood.

"No!" He exclaimed.

"This is not how it ends. I can fix this." He said picking up her limp and lifeless body, he carried her away knowing that nothing would ever be the Same again, that the girl he knew and fell in love with, was indeed gone, nothing inside but silent still organs.

He knew she was dead.

but he also knew he wouldn't let her stay that way
