Aras eyes flicker up at the chiseled moon, dried blood still plastered on her face and hands, the sound of ringing floods her Newley powerful ears, she quickly takes her phone out of her jean pocket and reads the caller Id expecting it to be Zac, but it wasn't.
Morgan Myette calling
She stares at the phone debating on answering it or not. She rolls her eyes.
"Ara's funeral home, how may I assist?" she answers.
"Ara? are you okay, I just got the strangest call from your father."
she rolls her eyes once more. "What a tattletale," she thought.
"And what did my lovely patriarch have to say?" she says with a smile.
"He told me that I needed to stay away from you, he was talking so fast, saying all sorts of things, I'm pulling into your apartment complex now..."
Ara quickly hung up, and ran as fast as she could, she was there within 3 minutes. a distance, that if she was a human, would have taken her 5 minutes just to drive there. she saw Morgans empty car parked outside. She sprints upstairs to the second floor, when she opens her apartment door, she sees Morgan and Zac sitting on the couch, they both turn around to face her when she enters. both of their faces dropping with shock. A piece of her old self arose to the surface when she saw her aunt sitting there.
Morgan quickly stood up, "oh my god, Ara what happened, are you okay?"
"Sorry I had a snack,"
Zacs eyes widen, with realization.
She turns around to look in the mirror on the wall behind her. she froze for a moment; she didn't recognize the reflection cast. What she saw wasn't a person at all, it was a monster. The concern she had inside her didn't show, instead a smile appeared on her death tainted face,
"You want to know what happened to me? ask my loving boyfriend," she says walking down the hallway into the bathroom.
Morgan turns to Zac, worry still plastered on his face.
"What is she talking about?"
He shakes his head not knowing what to say.
"Will someone please tell me what is going on?"
Ara enters the room again, her face wiped clean of all her wrong doings.
"Fine, I'll tell her,"
"Ara, no.."
"She's going to find out sooner or later, right?"
He shakes his head, putting his hand up to his forehead in disapproval.
Ara looks over at Morgan. "Are you sure you want to know? I'm giving you a chance to walk out of here. leave with a clean mind, free from burden. This is something you won't want to be a part of, so I ask again, are you sure?"
Morgan hesitates the wrinkles in her forehead gouging with confusion, before saying "yes."
Ara closes her eyes and manifests her dark side, knowing Morgan will never look at her the same way again. The veins in her face and arms turn a deep black, she opens her eyes to reveal pools of tar, she widens her mouth showing her sharp teeth and blackened gums.
Morgan stumbled backwards tripping on the back of the couch and falling to the ground,
she stared up at Ara, fearful tears soaking her bright green eyes. she was baffled, unable to speak. Zac was still sitting on the couch, looking away from Ara, not wanting to see her in that form.
"Is this what you wanted to see?" Ara asks her frightened aunt.
she was still unable to speak, unable to process.
"what's wrong? you don't like the new me?" she asks sarcastically.
a tear rolls down morgen's cheek. "What happened to you?" she shakes with fear and concern.
a black tear falls from Aras eyes.
"What hasn't happened to me?"
