I've been training my whole life for this, a magical thing most would call revenge. Revenge is often given a bad reputation because of the self-righteous hippies who think the best revenge is turning the other cheek.
They don't realize that turning the other cheek isn't giving their enemies a consequence to their actions; instead, it's enabling them to do the same thing again.
My mom turned the other cheek when my dad went missing, but I'm here to punish the people who ruined my mother's life.
I'm standing in front of my full-length mirror inspecting my outfit for the first day of school when she walks in.
"Avia, you are such a beautiful girl! That top I bought you really brings out the color of your eyes," She says, referring to the lace top I got for Christmas.
"Thanks mom. I can't believe the day has finally come, senior year! We can finally avenge dad," I slowly murmur, hoping she's ready to tell me what exactly happened to him.
Is he dead? Maybe.
Is he just gone? Possibly.
Theories of his disappearance constantly circle my brain, and with the countless hours I've spent searching and finding nothing about him, I only grow more obsessed.
Although I'm excited to go see the place where my dad and mom met, I'm scared since I have no idea how to do the thing my mom has drilled in my head since birth: destroy The Elites.
We sit in silence for a moment, then she sighs. "Your father is gone because of The Elites, and now you will make sure the new generation won't be able to let history repeat itself."
I turn my back to her to conceal my annoyance.
"You've been telling me that for years, but how can I make sure something like that won't happen again?"
"What if they won't allow me to join their group? What if they discover who I am?" I ask sensible questions, but she looks at me like I'm crazy.
I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Avia, you've been waiting for senior year all your life. I know you'll find a way to bring them down, and don't worry about them discovering my past. We have new names and there's no information relating you to John. His name isn't even on your birth certificate for Christ's sake!" I could tell she's getting annoyed with my understandable fear, so I quickly utter a goodbye and head off to school.

I get out of my car and stand in front of Silver Valley High in awe. It really is a work of art in itself. The school is two stories supported by pristine white columns, and the front entrance has the biggest door I've ever seen. In my opinion, it looks more like a mansion than a place people go to learn.
