Author's note:

I'm so, so, so sorry that I took this long to update, but I didn't had a lot of time :-( I had a math's test on friday, so I needed the thuersday to finhish studying (especially since it was a hollyday here, Worker's Day). Then I restarted my three hour classes at British Council (for those who are wondering what that is, British Council is a English School, as I feel you can guess by the name, but anyway... :-) ) So that meant, no friday night :-( Then there was the regional's Phisic Olympics, so no saturday eighter, and last but not least this sunday was Mother's Day here as well as my baby counsin's birthday, which again meant no time :-(

So, here I am, for the first time writting a Author's note in the beginning of a chapter, but I felt like I needed to apologise to the people that are reading this (even if you are not that many).

I hope this can make up for the time, even if it was only four or five days (It was fun to write anyway :-) )... If anything doesn't make sense, like if they say something a native speaker wouldn't please let me know. :-)

Enjoy... :-)

Chapter 4 - Teorema de Pitágoras (Pythagorean Theorem)

"We need to understand our past in order to know how to act in the future. Therefore, I strongly believe that History is the most important subject. You can know everything that there is no know about cells or molecules, but if you want to act correctly in the future, you have to learn from your ancestors. Well, in this case ours. So Welcome! In this class room you will learn the incredible story of this incredible country!" the teacher was saying.

"She is so delusional!" I say to João, who is sitting next to me. But he doesn't answer, and let's just say that there are many jokes you could make with this crazy woman. When I look at him I see that he is sleeping... and I'm not the only one that notices this... the teacher sees it too...

"This is going to be fun..." I say under my breath

"One thing that you must all understand" she says while talking to our table "is that I will not tolerate acts of disrespect towards me or anyone in this classroom" and with that being said she just drops the books that she had in her hands in front of João

"O quadrado da hipotenusa é igual a soma do quadrado dos catetos!" (AN: In case anybodu is wondering this is the Pythagorean Theorem :-) That's why I decided to give this chapter that title, in case anybody cares :-) )!" João says like he is trying to answer the question that the teacher made. It is hilarious... while everybody is looking around because they couldn't understand what we said I'm trying not to laugh, but failing miserably... Well me, and a guy to seats a couple of chair by my right, I think he is Brazilian...

João, João, João... that might have helped you if this was Math... unfortunately we are in American History something that the teacher thought that would be important to our integration in the American society, even if the other subjects that we have have nothing to do with history and stuff... Really? What the use? Mix subjects that have nothing to do with each other?)

"Well, Mr. Oliveira why don't you go visit our beautiful detention room after your last class... and you can take Ms. Silva and Mr. Santos with you, since they seemed to have enjoyed your little act. Though, I can't understand why someone has a need to sleep during classes, especially in the first day!"

"Oh... I can... jet-lag and all... it's just an eight hour difference!" he says sarcastically under his breath. Let's just say that made me laugh even harder, and got us a really disapproving look from the teacher

"You are so much trouble!" I say in-between giggles when we finally leave the classroom. After João's demonstration of how not to act in a classroom no one paid attention to the teacher anymore, so she let us all leave earlier.
