BREATH LIFE
the first breath, relief, fear, happiness,
The first glance, true love, deep bonding, bliss,
So unknowing, yet so wise, clever, tuned in,
You know me, your eyes tell, can't help but grin,
See a child born into this world full of hate, fear,
You must shelter this gift, so fragile and dear,
Remember to give love, advise, not smother opinion,
A child will resent the frowns, want smiles within them,
No one can prepare you for this wonderful day,
Read every book, Take down notes, have your say,
When nature says 'time' there's no going back,
Your mind in the clouds, no sanity intact,
Thought, plans, ideas float out the window,
Here it goes again, coping just so.....,
When all over and done with, pain trickles away,
Short nap, awoken by life, start a new day.
