i slowly open my eyes. there's a bright light straight in front of me making everything white. as my vision starts to clear i notice the familiar white ceiling of the hospital room.  looking around i'm hooked up to some monitor. i click the button so that the doctor will come into my room. she notices i'm awake and pages for my mom.

"your surgery was successful!" she says. i smile as my mom comes into the room. we talk about a few things that happened over the last 6 hours. but i was wondering about seeing youngjae again. this meant we could be friends.

"your friend, uhm, the one you started talking to yesterday. he's still in the lobby." my mom says. i open my eyes wide at what she just said.

"can i see him?" i ask her. i'm not to be released from my bed for three more hours. she nods her head and walks out of the room. i sigh and lay my head back on the pillow. i hear the door open and i look over to see youngjae.  he smiles and sits down in the chair next to my bed.

"i'm so glad you're alive! i was so worried i stayed the whole time so i could know if you were okay." he says with a kind of down face but still happy nonetheless.

"youngjae i'm fine! you didn't have to stay here." i tell him. i was quite surprised that he did. i mean who would wait in a hospital lobby for six hours just to know if someone you met yesterday was okay. apparently youngjae. he looks at his watch.

"uhm, i have to go to my appointment soon but here's my number! you can text me when you get home and maybe we can hang out tomorrow!" he smiles and places the small slip of paper on the desk next to my hospital bed.

i watch as youngjae walks out of the room. he waves before shutting the door. i'm still pretty tired and fall asleep again. the next thing i know my mom is yelling at me to wake up. the doctor is unhooking me from the monitor and i look over towards the side table.

the paper is still there. i grab it and sit up as my mom hands me my clothes. everyone leaves the room so i can change.  when i walk out of the room, youngjae isn't there so he must of went home already. i don't blame him it's been a long day.

i still don't understand why he waited for me like. i'm not that important? my mom starts to push me out the door bc i was staring off into space. on the way home she talks my ear off and i just politely nod and mumble a few 'mhm's.

when we got into our driveway i quickly got out of the car. i want my phone so badly. my mom made me leave it at home otherwise i would've texted youngjae already. i walk into the house to see my whole family is there. great.

"you can have your phone after you spend some time with your family" my mom says as she gestures for me to sit down for dinner. i swear this event went on for hours. after everyone left i help my clean up because let's be honest, my family is rowdy.

i stare at my mom and wait for her to finally give me my phone. it's now 10:00 pm and i'm pretty sure youngjae is probably asleep, he looks like one of those, go to bed at 9:00 type of people. she just continues to stare back at me until she remembers.

she hands me my phone and i dash upstairs saying thank you on my way up. i hear her laugh as i'm opening my bedroom door about to flop on my bed. being asleep for so long honestly just makes you so much more tired.

i change before i get into bed. i grab my laptop so i can watch netflix. after slipping into my warm fluffy bed covers i open my phone contacts and click 'add new contact'. i set the contact name as 'sunshine' and plug his phone number in. maybe he is awake?
