I rushed to my broke down car. I struggled with the door handle and when it finally let me in, I rammed the keys into the ignition. I was almost on Main Street when I looked out the car door mirror to see Hope still outside yelling. I made a quick U-turn and yelled to her get in.
"I can't believe you left me," Hope shouted, not even attempting to buckle up,"Wait until my daddy hears about this-"
I didn't have time or the patience to hear her nonsense. I was late. Band practice started an hour ago and I was no were near ready to rock. I just got off and had to pick up Hope from practice. And I still had to pick up Noah from Extended day. At only 17 I'm acting as if I'm a parent with two kids, and a full time job. Wish Mary would get off her ass and be a parent...
I was going 15 over the speed limit when I got a call from my cousin, Amaya,"What's up?"
"Band practice is cancelled. Nick and Zeda are both busy so-"
I laid on the horn as a jerk in front of me swerved in my lane without a turning signal,"Shit," I lowered my window and stuck my head out,"YOU DUMB FUCKER! WATCH IT!"
Amaya was quiet on the other end,"Is this a bad time?"
"No girl," I checked on Hope to see if she was ok. She was but was giving me a death glare,"But I'm glad practice is canceled. I don't think I could play dumb today."
"Rough day?"
"Yea. I had school, work, Hope needed to be picked up and I'm on my way to get Noah now...Still need to think about dinner."
"Pizza!" Said a voice from the back.
"We just had that last night." I sighed.
Out the corner of my eye, I could see her roll her eyes,"Well, if I was with my daddy-"
I turned and glared, the road forgotten,"Little brat! Shut up about your dad- that only comes to get you once a month! You little ungrateful-"
I saw her eyes get large. I heard a loud horn blow and whipped back in my seat to see what was happening. An angry truck driver glared at me with big red eyes, his jaw coming unhinged shouted not-so-nice words at me. I slammed on brakes, my seat belt cut my neck and Hope flung into the back of my seat. It was only by the grace of god that I didn't hit him. I sat in the middle of the intersection listening to the melody of honks behind me. I tried to gather myself.
"Faith!"
I sat there.

"Faith," Amaya called,"Are you ok?! My god answer me!"
I slowly began to drive again,"Yea I'm fine. I just pulled up to the school...I'll call you when I get home. I don't need anymore distractions."
"That hurt!"
"Then put on a seat belt you idiot!" I yelled at her, making sure I kept my eyes on the road this time,"God! Why wasn't that the first thing you did when you got in!"
"...Alright. Drive safe." She hung up as soon as I stoped the car.
Noah got in the seat beside me, smiling from ear to ear,"Hello my beautiful sisters!"
Rosy and bright eyed as usual. My little ray of sunshine.
"How come he gets to sit in the front-"
Because I like him, I thought.
I held my hand to my temple,"Not now Hope."
Hope, as usual didn't listen, and directed her attention to Noah,"Faith tried to kill us."
"How?" Noah turned in his seat.
"She-"
"I said not now goddamnit!"
The rest of the ride was silent.
