The wind howled, sending ripple across the pond. Many cats sat in groups around it, murmuring among themselves. A small calico stood up and announced, "What have the cats of EarthClan decided?" A dark tabby tom from one of the groups stood up, and said calmly, "My group has decided to send a sign." A white she-cat stood up and said, "My group has decided to leave them be." She shot a look at the tom. One by one, a cat from each group stood up and announced their groups' decision. Once each group had voted, the calico she-cat closed her eyes for a moment, and mewed, "That settles it. EarthClan will send Silverearth a sign." "But Streamstar!" a small tom mewed. "We need to let them settle it themselves! They have to be able to stand on their own four paws, not rely on us!" Another cat shushed her, saying, "We should trust her, Kestrelkit! There's a reason she was the second BrightClan leader. Stop arguing for once!" The EarthClan cats mrrowed with amusement, and Kestrelkit looked down at her paws. "Thank you, Huckleberry. It's good to see you behind my decision." The gray tom dipped his head, saying, "Of course." "Alright, is there no more objections?"Streamstar mewed, her eyes sweeping over the crowd. When no one spoke up, she nodded, and called for Cherrydawn, Antfoot, and Foxnose to follow her as she padded away.

A grey tom sat in the center of a large cavern, looking around confusedly. "Silverearth..." A voice called out from the shadows. "Who's there?" the BrightClan leader mewed quietly. "When the ground shall shake and all things bright shall seem gone..." The cavern began to fade. "...a cat, born of three, with a name of light will banish all things dark..." Silverearth raced towards the strange voice but before he could reach it, the cavern faded completely.
