He Is Gone

Tessa's POV:

Tears streamed down my face, my whole body went into shock. I can't believe he is gone. When we just got back together. Now he is gone.

My father.

Gone.

I faintly feel someone wrap their arms around me and carry me somewhere. My eyes closing slightly but I force them open, I don't want to sleep. I can't sleep. Not yet, not with the war still going on.

"Baby, go to sleep. I'm here. We won, the war is over. Cane is dead no need to worry. Just go to sleep it will be better in the morning." Jace whispers in my ear. My eyes droop more because of his words. Finally I give into the sleep.

My eyes slowly open and I get enough focus to look around the room. When did I get here? That's when all of yesterday came back to me. Tears formed in my eyes, thinking back to how my father looked at me. Jace enters our room and takes one look at me before rushing towards me with food on a tray.

"Tessa, Tessa; shhh it's ok. It will all be ok," he assures me.

"But Jace I just got him back and now he is gone," I whisper in return.

"I know, but now he is in a better place. Now he is with your mother, his mate."

I look straight into his eyes when he says that, so I know that he believes that himself.

I guess he does have a point, my father never really had his spark that he use to have before my mother died and now he can be with her. I need to be strong for him, Jace, and the baby.

I can do this I will get over his death and things will get better.

------4 Months Later------

I walk into the kitchen craving Kit Kats again. That's all this baby wants is Kit Kats. It's been 4 months since the war and my father died. I'm better now I can still feel some pain but mainly I'm completely better.

I talked Jace into not finding out what gender the baby is so it is a surprise. I am due in a couple of days, since Jace is an Alpha I am only pregnant for about 5-6 months.

Jace is in our room getting ready for training right now, so I took that as my chance to get up and get some food or just move. Jace doesn't even want me to move at all he wants me just to sit in bed, so what do I do? I do the exact opposite.

"Tessa? Where are you? Princess," Jace calls out worriedly.

I smirk slightly when he comes into view and he frowns when he sees that I'm up and standing right now.

"Tessa what did I tell you. You need to rest and not be on your feet, I could get you anything that you want," he says walking up to me

"Yeah I know you di-" my sentence was cut off by me groaning in pain and feel something slip down my leg.

I look down and see a pool of water under my feet. I look up to meet Jaces eyes and he looks panicked.

Jace rushes over to me and starts to lead me over to the car so we could get to the pack doctors house.

We arrive in no time seeing how Jace was going almost 50 miles over the speed limit.

Jace gets out, opens my door and bursts into the pack doctors house.

"Tessa's giving birth!" he yells out, putting me on one of the beds.

The doctor rushes in and hooks me up to all of the scanners to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Jace is breathing heavily, he looks very panicked.

"Jace calm down I'm the one giving birth! You're just going to stand there! So calm down!" I yell at Jace and see me look at me, calming down slightly.

"Ok Tessa I want you to relax and let nature take its course," the doctor tells me calmly.

I nod in response. I take labored breaths and do what the doctor told me to do.

Let nature take its course.
