The War We Regret

Tessa POV:

I really don't know what made me more nervous; knowing that there is an impending war between my pack and Cane's pack or the fact that I'm pregnant while we are at war.

Jace is doing everything he can to make me feel better even in the slightest. He has had to do so much training and paperwork I'm surprised to see how he has time for me.

We have two more days until the war, more than likely, will start. I'm not gonna be one of those really possessive mates that begs their mate not to fight and to stay with them, I know Jace is an Alpha and Alphas have to fight. I had to grow up with that because of my father.

Today all I have been doing is laying on our bed and thinking about what is to come.

Jace has only stopped by once and that makes me a little more nervous because they must be having trouble with training.

I really think I need to take a nap and forget some of this stuff for a couple of hours.

I wake up to the sound of screaming.

"Their here! Their coming! Women and children hide!"

'Tessa, Tessa! Where are you, go hide now. Go with the other ladies in the safe room, I will come get you when the war is over. Princess, I swear now go please. I love you' Jace says through our mate bond.

'I'm going. I love you too' I say back.

I rush down the stairs heading for the safe room when I hear a dreadful howl and ringing of a gun shot shoots straight through my body. I run outside, not very aware of what I was doing. I was desperate to know what happened.

The gun shot was louder then the others, it sounded as if it was right in my ear. But I knew it wasn't.

That's when I felt the ripping in my heart, my heart being ripped up and stomped on. I searched frantically, finally meeting his green eyes the light draining out if them.

His eyes met mine he mouthed the words 'I love you' before he falls on the ground blood pooling around him, his eyes finally closing.

"Noooooo!!!" I scream.

This can't be happening I can't believe it. I feel my body going weak, I faintly hear calling my name but I can't respond my body is numb. He was the only one left.

And I lost him.

That last paragraph is the prologue, and I kinda left you hanging there. You will find out who died next chapter promise. So I just realized that if you are going to vote for all of my chapters why not follow you? Right I think that seems fair! Anywho you guys really need to tell me what you think! Just one comment I mean you could even tell me you hate my guts and want me to die. Ok not really that would hurt my feelings but you know. Oh and I wrote two chapters to a new book called 'Witches Can Love' and it's new so yeah. Tell friends about my story if I could get 200 reads I think I might faint.
