Tessa's POV:

I was running. That's all I've been doing lately, just running with my brother trying to get away. We always get away, we have Alpha blood after all, but this chase is close and we only have half a mile to the border.

'Tes, were close just keep going' my brother mind-links me.

'K' I respond.

We're almost there now, just a couple more steps and we'll be safe. My paws pound on the ground and my breath pants out in little puffs of air brides disappearing. The icy air nips at my coat of fur as we run faster and faster. The breath of the wolves chasing us right on my heels as we near closer and closer to the boarder. The sound of pounding paws starts to become faint signifying that we just crossed the boarder.

We stop at a lake to get a drink of water and shift back. I walk over to the trees and quickly shift back into my human form, slipping on a baggy t-shirt and some sweatpants. I emerge back from the trees quickly walking to the lake and sipping some of the fresh clean water. I look over to my side to see my brother splashing water up to his face causing dirty drips of water to fall from his face back into the lake.

"You ok?" I question him.

He looks back up at me "We need to be more careful those guys almost got us," he says with a worried look on his face.

"I know," I grumble back.

"We are going to go to town tomorrow and get some stuff, but me must be careful there are plenty of wolves that want any rouge that they smell dead at first chance, boy or girl," Chase, my brother, says.

I just nod to tired to stay how sexist that was and lay my head down, closing my eyes, wishing for the best tomorrow.

If only I knew.
