Your cat's looks should be realistic. That means the following things:

•Cats with red eyes are uncommon, and you should not have a lot of them in your story. Maybe 1-3 if you have 4+ Clans.

•Cats with purple eyes are also uncommon.

•Cats with "black" eyes are uncommon.

•Cats with two different color eyes are uncommon.

•Cats with "red" pelts are uncommon. By that I mean when people have "blood red" markings on the cat, not russet.

•Cats with half a black face, half orange (usually) split straight down the middle then with two different colored eyes is uncommon as well.

Common eye colors for your cat:

•Blue*

•Green*

•Amber

•Silver

•Golden

•Yellow

•Orange

•Gray (or a dull blue)

•Dark brown

•Hazel

*= Rarer, but not uncommon.

Pelt colors:

•Tabby (There are many types of tabby)

•Russet

•Black

•Ginger

•Brown

•Hazel

•Gray

•White

•Tuxedo

•Tortoiseshell

•Cream (or cream and white)

•Spotted

•Bengal (Rare- these cats have distinct stripes or spots.)

•Lilac

•Cinnamon

There are more, but I can't put them all here.

Now, don't just have a plain white cat with blue eyes. Spice it up a bit! Add some tufts of gray, speckles, cream paws, things like that. Cats usually aren't just one full color. (Except white cats.) Black cats usually have dark shades of brown, and ginger cats usually have darker ginger stripes.

Also think about the body build of your cat. Are they bulky? Lithe? Stocky? Skinny?

Another thing to think about is how your cat blends into their territory. You rarely see a white ShadowClan cat. You rarely see a bulky WindClan cat. ShadowClan cats must be dark colors so they can blend into the shadows. WindClan cats must be skinny with longs legs so they can have the speed to chase rabbits. Even if your making your own Clan, think about those things.
