Tips on making a Warrior Cat fanfiction!

Cat personality/ Character development

No one likes a perfect character! My advice would be to add flaws to your character. They don't have to be major flaws, but no one is perfect, so neither are your cats! Even Firestar had his problems. 

Mental problems: Here are a few examples 

•Your cat has a temper, and is easily angered 

•Your cat panics under pressure 

•Your cat is shy and/or is often nervous 

•Your cat isn't sure about their faith in Starclan 

•Your cat finds kittypet life tempting 

•Your cat tends to care about the cats in other Clan's feelings too much

•Your cat doesn't want to hurt others, yet they still want to be a warrior

•Your cat is insecure 

•Your cat can be impulsive at times 

Those are a few examples! You can also add physical flaws:

•Twisted paw/crippled leg/twisted leg/weaker foot (Example of a cat like this, Deadfoot.)

•Scarred face (Brightheart)

•Blind in one eye/missing an eye (White-eye/One-eye)

•Fully blind (Longtail)

•Paralyzed (Briarlight)

•Missing a foot/ear/tail, etc

•Extra set of ears (Yes this is a thing.) 

•Poor Hunter 

•Poor Fighter 

•Very loud/not a good stalker 

•Poor climber 

•Poor swimmer 

•Poor runner 

•Deaf

•Mute

•Cat can't smell (surprisingly I haven't seen the Erin's use this one yet)

•Missing their tail/stump of a tail (Berrynose, Stumpytail, etc.)

These physical flaws aren't necessary for all your cats, but some should definitely have them.

Your cat should also have a fear. It does not have to be major, but everyone is afraid of something.

•Water

•Small spaces (claustrophobic, like Thornclaw was about the tunnels)

•Fire

•Heights 

•Owls

•Hawks

•Badgers

•Foxes

•Dogs 

•Other cats learning a secret of theirs 

•Losing someone 

•Everyone hating them 

•The dark 

•Letting their clanmates down 

There are others, so think outside the box!

When developing your character's personality, don't just have: "Brindleheart is loyal, caring, and brave." No! That's boring! Give your cat some pazazz! Some better words to use: 

•Compassionate *

•Mature *

•Pitiful ^

•Timid ~

•Attentive *

•Steadfast*

•Dauntless *

•Ill-mannered ^

•Ignorant ^

•Bashful ~

•Stubborn ~ 

*= Positive based 

~= Neutral

^= Negative based
