Abbey smiled as she watched little Lisa play with some dolls. Abbey loved to babysit. She loved the sound of their giggles and the pitter patter of their little feet when they run to greet her. Abbey would always think to herself, 'I can't wait till I'm older! I want two children of my own, Charleigh and Oliver. A girl and a boy!'
Abbey passed out animal crackers to the little kids and passed out apple juice boxes. She put on Trolls for them while they ate their snacks. After they all finished Abbey passed out math coloring sheets to the toddlers and while the toddlers worked on them she put the babies in the play area, and she opened a window so she can watch the bigger kids play on the playground. The play ground has a small swing for two and a seesaw and a tunnel and two slides with a sandbox full of toy trucks and toy animals.
5:00PM time for the kids parents to come pick them up! She said goodbye to them and when the mothers that came for their infants came she would take them to the nursery and the parents would get their babies.
Abbey walked home, it was only a few blocks away. She didn't wanna waste gas. She only stayed late at her job if one of the kids or more haven't gotten picked up. If they aren't picked up early she drives home.
Once Abbey got home she went straight to the bathroom and took a shower and afterward she greeted her mother and father. Her father has been stressed lately, but he won't say anything. He gets home late on weekdays, and sleeps in on weekends.
Her father smiled a fake smile and her mother turned around. Her eyes were red, as if she were crying. Not trying to make it obvious she walks over to her mom and asks, "Hey , are you okay?" Her mom turns to face her and says I will tell you later..." Abbey frowned and nodded, hoping everything was gonna be okay. Abbey exited the kitchen and went to her room. She heard violent whispers and sad whispers coming from the kitchen. She frowned and went to her favorite hiding place where she always goes when there is a problem in the house. It blocks out every noise and she has a journal she writes things in that are bad that happen in her life. She's done it since she was eight years old. She sits down on her bean bag chair leans over and closes her door to her secret room. She opens a tiny compartment in her wall and pulls out a journal titled 'Problems' she opens it to a blank page and starts writing.
Hey Journal,
It is September the 12th and today when I came home from babysitting I greeted my mother and father, my father looked annoyed and mad so he smiled a fake smile and my mom turned around and looked as if she were crying. So I asked and she told me she will tell me later. Then I left and I heard violent whispers from my father and sad scared whispers from my mother. So I will update you soon of what happens. For now I am going to sit here in my hiding place for a while until I feel as if it is okay to come out.Ten minutes later Abbey comes out. Her mother yelling outside for her. Abbey runs outside and says, "Mom! I'm right here! It's okay, I am right here. I was in my room, sorry I worried you." Her mother's eyes were full of tears. She noticed that the car was gone. 'Maybe dad was gone on a business trip again, and she was upset, because every time he was gone off on a business trip mom would get upset and cry.' Abbey's mom looked at her and hugged her and said, "Let's go inside we need to talk." Abbey nods and they both walk inside and sit at the kitchen table and her mother starts, "Okay. Well your dad left." Abbey turns her head to the side and questions, "On a business trip again?" Her mom shakes her head no and says in a whining tone, "He left cause he said he found a better women, that he has been seeing for the past few weeks. He said this family was too much for him. He said he still loves you, just he said he has moved on and doesn't want to be with me anymore, he said he will keep in contact with you. So he asked for your phone number and I gave it to him. He will contact you everyday." Abbey's heart stopped she looked at her mother and silently says in a sad voice, "So he doesn't care about us no more?" She shakes her head no and cries and says, "No Abbey... he doesn't care about me. He loves you, but he didn't want to hurt me by taking you with him with his soon to be new wife. You will spend the night at his house every weekend. Okay?" Abbey nods and says, "I hope his fuc*ing new girlfriend get hit by a god da*n train!" Abbey storms put of the kitchen and grabs her phone and calls her boyfriend Cody.
