CHAPTER 37
TRIS' POV:
Tobias shuts the door, and I break down. What am I gonna do?!?
It's been about 10 minutes, and I finally calm down a bit.
I go into the bathroom, and wash my face. I shiver, remembering that I was...taken here.
Shake it off, Tris. Shake it off. I think to myself. You are better than this.
I'm still uncomfortable on my own. I decide to call Christina and make up with her.
TRIS AND CHRIS' PHONE CALL:
C: Hello?
T: Chris?
C: Yeah?
T: I'm so, so sorry! I feel terrible!
C: Tris, I understand... Kind of. But, you have to understand that that was pretty scary for me too. Seeing you that way hurt me.
T: Oh, Christina. I didn't mean to. I'm sorry.
C: Tris, it's fine! Really!
T: Thanks. Umm... Can you come back over?
C: Of course! Be there in a few!
END OF CALL:
5 minutes later, there's a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" I call.
"Christina!"
I open the door, and attack Chris with a hug.
"I'm sorry." I whisper.
She hugs me back.
"Tris, that's like, the 3rd time you've said that! It's ok!" She assures me.
I let go of her.
"Wanna watch a movie?" I ask.
"Yeah!" She answers, excitedly.
"I have some old movies that are pretty cool." I say.
"Oh yeah? What are they?" She asks, curiously.
"The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay Part 1 and 2."
"Ooo! I've seen The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire. I've never seen Mockingjay!"
"Ok, let's watch that." I say.
After finishing Mockingjay, Christina is in tears.
"OMG that was cutest ending EVER!" She exclaims.
I hear a knock on the door.
"Christina, can you get that?" I ask, picking up our popcorn bowls.
"Yeah." She sniffles.
I put them in the sink, and feels strong arms snake around my waste. I tense, worried its someone like Marcus again.
"Hey Tris, you ok?" Tobias says. I relax. It's just Tobias.
I turn around and hug him.
"I'm fine. Chris and I watched a movie, so it took my mind off of things. I missed you."
"That's good. I missed you too." He says.
"I don't think I want to stay here alone for a while though." I confess.
"That's ok. As long as you feels safe."
I smile. He's so sweet. How did I get so lucky?
"Tris?" I hear Christina call.
I walk into the living room, and see her gathering her things together.
"I'm gonna go hang out with Uriah--"
My 17 year old girl brain kicks in, and I wiggle my eyebrows and say, "Oooooo!"
"Not like that Tris." Christina says, rolling her eyes. She mumbles something under her breath. It sounded like she said "Not yet."
Oh well. I shrug it off.
"Bye Chris!" I say, hugging her. "Thanks for coming back."
"Anytime! See you later!"
She shuts the door, and Tobias says, "Tris, I found out that they are holding a Choosing Ceremony in 2 months."
"Really!" I say excitedly.
"Yeah. I kinda snooped around in the control room. They are asking the 1st and 2nd ranking initiates to train." He explains.
"Yay!" I reply.
"I was thinking you and I could train transfers together. Maybe Zeke and Uriah will train Dauntless borns together."
"That'd be great! Zeke ranked 2nd?" I ask. I have become very perky, very fast considering what happened at lunch. I guess Chris' perkiness is contagious.
"No. But, Eric's dead, so it'll have to be Zeke." He answers.
"Oh."
"Wanna go to dinner tomorrow night?" Tobias asks out of the blue.
"Sure!" I answer excitedly.
Our second date! Awesome!
