My boss came over to me and told me I should come home. Immediately after hearing this Murr went to grab my stuff from the staff room.
"Do you want me to walk you home?" Sal asked.
I gradually placed the ice pack down and replied
"Yes please- if you don't mind"
He smiled so I guess he was pleased with my response and helped me up. Murr came back over with my stuff and took my hand asking me
"Would you like to get a taxi home with me" but Sal interrupted and said "I got this" Sal smiled at Murr in hopes for his departure. Sal grabbed my hand and helped me up then snatched my belongings from Murr and then we began walking.
Sal was walking with me unsure where to go and I couldn't help but giggle at every corner when he was about to go the opposite way.
"Are you okay now?" He asked. I jokingly pretended to faint but to my surprise he turned he turned pale white panicking. I laughed and he was annoyed but he laughed as well.
"Where exactly do you live?' Sal wondered. I turned to the left and answered
"Right down here"
We were in a row of white houses with flowers at the front and white fences around. I lived on the end. With the grey clouds expanding, it suddenly began to heavily rain. It was really heavy so we rushed down to my house at the end of the lane and we stood on the porch staring at the rain. We both laughed in awkwardness about the rain but I think it was just an awkward laugh.
"Soooo" Sal began "I guess I better go, I hope you get better soon" he began to walk away but I couldn't bare to see him go. I softly shouted
"Stay?" Followed by a smile. Sal turned around in the rain and ran to me and we stood there on the verge of a kiss until my neighbour,Larry's cat came chasing down the road up to my house but Sal freaked! He ran away shouting
"No no no, get it away"
I couldn't help but laugh while I was petting it. Larry made his way down the street "I'm so sorry " he began " sorry Emily". The cat ran back to Larry as I shouted back
"No worries" with a smile.
Sal ran back up to me on the porch, flicking rain off his heels after every step.
"I don't like cats" he said obviously, followed by a nervous laugh. I laughed at him as I couldn't help it.
"What are you laughing at?" He began. "Me? How rude" he said in a funny way.
"No, I find it kinda cute, but what's your issue with cats? But do you want to come in as it's freezing and wet?" I asked, although immediately regretting calling him cute. I hope he didn't realise. Is it too weird? Is it too soon? I thought to myself. But he looked down and smiled then looked at me and asked while I was unlocking the door
"Did you just call me cute?" He asked with hopes that I did.
"I...I...I" I began with a grin. But I opened the door and we walked in.
