This was the first cover that AdamBreeChase made a while back when the name for this story was Time Ticks. I changed the name so I had to change the cover too. Thank you so much!
Chapter 1: Every Day Is a Nightmare
'Is pain just a feeling? Does true love actually exist in this world? Why do people lie, and say they love you to cause pain? Those are the questions everyone has.'
I put my pencil down, I wasn't sure if I should use this as my essay topic. Not in this class anyways. I don't need these people to know what I think.
Everyone in this class hates me. Honestly, I haven't done anything to them. My whole high school experience has been like this, it's sickening to feel this way. Nobody realizes how much you need someone to confide in. They don't understand that them being rude really bothers me.
As I erased everything I had just written, I looked up at the clock. Just one more minute, and it's the weekend. I started putting all my stuff away, when out of nowhere, Mackenzie and her group of friends walked up to me, with their over exaggerated model walk. I just don't really care about them, I don't like them, and they don't like me. I just walk away.
The bell rings.
"Alli, where the hell are you going?"
I turn around to see Mackenzie and her friends staring at me
"Home, like everyone else. So go away, I don't want trouble."
I've had enough of her, really, and this has just been the worst week of all. So punching her won't be hard to do. I'm not the violent type, don't get me wrong, it's just... today went horrible, because of her. I try not to let her have any effect on me, but sometimes she just goes too far, no matter how much I want to let it go.
"But I do," she whispers. "Ooh, you hear that girls? The little princess thinks she's tough!"
And of course, they all laugh. Why do they think this is funny? I don't think it's funny. It's actually messed up. Whatever I did to Mackenzie for her to treat me this way, I know I didn't mean it.
"Stop trying to be brave, Alli."
"Yeah, maybe you should drop out so we don't have to see you anymore."
I like to ignore the comments I get, unless they're from Mackenzie, something about her tells me that if I don't ignore her, she would do something really bad.
"You know, Alli, since nobody wants to see you, you should disappear."
That was the last strike. I despised her too much to let it go, again.
I turned around and I punched.
Yeah, I know it's pretty stupid to do that, but it just felt so relieving.
