Chapter 9

" Good morning " She brought me hot tea to my room. " Check your phone, your mom called last night " I reminded her. She took out her phone and called her mom.

Yerin: Good morning mom!

Yerin: I miss you too

......

Yerin: Maybe today, I'll ask

......

Yerin: See you! I love you!

Their call ended.

" Donghan ah, Can I... " She started. " You can " I cut her off. " What? " She asked. " If you need to visit your mom, you're more than welcome to " I replied. " Thank you, I'll be back in a few hours " She excused herself.

I thought I should take her home and greet her parents so I waited for her inside my car. " Yerin, come in " I called her. " Why? I can take the bus " She said. " There's no need to " I said back.

She showed me the way to her house, it was in a small village. " You live in a comfortable area " I told her because I saw her hiding her face is embarrassment. " You're lying " She said as she looked away.

" Is it this one? " I pointed at a house. She nodded. " Yerin! You're home " Her mom ran to hug her. " Annyeonghaseo " I bowed in respect. " You're so handsome and tall " She complimented.

" Let's go inside, it's hot here " I told them. " Have you guys eaten? Should I cook something? " Her mom questioned. " I'll help you " I offered. " Thank you dear " She said. " I'll go check the mail " Yerin shouted.

We were going make kimchi stew and kimbap, we started cutting the vegetables and kimchi. " Mom, Is the mail area far? " I asked. " No dear, it's right around the corner " She replied. " Then I'll go check on Yerin " I said.

I went outside and was shocked to see my principle. " Donghan? " He asked. " Sir, who are you looking for? " I asked. " Why are you here? " He asked back. " Appa " Yerin called him.

" Yerin ah, can we talk? " He questioned. " No, I don't want to " She answered as she walk back in the house. " Come in " Yerin's mom called him.

" Honey, have you been well? " He asked her mom. " Why are you acting all nice? It's scary " She told him. " Are you two dating? " He turned to me and Yerin. " No sir, we are friends " I explained.

" I must have missed a lot of things, I'm sorry " He apologised. " There is no point, we won't forgive you " Yerin cut in. " Yerin ah, you've been through a lot more than I thought, I really didn't understand why you approached me in school the other day but now... I understand " He explained.

Yerin stood up from her seat and went to her room. " I'll go after her " I excused myself too. I went inside her room and sat down next to her. " I want to die " She told me. I pulled her in for a hug. " Even when I die, nobody would cry for me " She continued.

" Don't die, your mom will cry, your dad will cry, your friends will cry and... I will cry " I told her. " Why would you? I'm just your housekeeper " She said. " We spend so many hours together in a day, I'm not use to living in a quiet house anymore " I said back.

" I really want to disappear from this world and live a brand new life somewhere else " She told me. " Don't you still have a dream to go after? " I asked. She nodded. " Let's practice and take an audition, we should live our life the way we want to " I explained. " I have to work for my mom though " She replied. " Let's work together " I reached out my pinky.

" Okay, I promise " She agreed.

" What did dad say? " She asked her mom. " He said he won't come back and bother us anymore, we decided to end this completely and he apologised for what he did, don't worry and work hard, you'll succeed one day if you keep trying " Her mom encouraged her.

" Donghan, look after her and make sure she eats well, she likes to skip meals " Her mom reminded me. " Yes mom, I will take care of her, thank you " I responded.

We got in the car and went back home, " Wanna practice the duet dance I told you about? " I asked her. " Sure " She agreed.

He showed me the video, I widen my eyes.

" Isn't that too.... touchy? "
