"hope!!" yoongi giggled happily as the small kitten climbed onto his shoulder, nuzzling his cheek. "daddy, look!"
hoseok looked up from the paperwork on his desk and couldn't help but smile, unlocking his phone to take a picture of the heartwarming sight.
that morning when yoongi woke up all he wanted to do was be with hope. he needed to eat his cereal with hope on his lap, he couldn't color unless the kitten was beside him and even sat on the kitchen floor patiently as she ate her lunch. and when the little took his nap, there was a tiny grey bundle on his snoozing on his chest.
it was all so adorable to hoseok, his camera roll was already full of pictures of yoongi and hope. he would always tell the smaller boy that his mannerisms were similar to a cat's, so the caretaker now had two little kittens on his hands.
"you both are absolutely adorable." he laughed, stacking up a pile of papers and pushing back his chair, he was done with work for the day, he had babies to dote on.
"what do you want for dinner, baby bear?" hoseok asked softly, running a hand through his boyfriend's messy black hair.
"mm, mac & cheese and dino nuggies?" yoongi stuck his bottom lip out, batting his eye lashes at the dancer.
"you're eating veggies too." hoseok mock-glared at his little one when he whined loudly, hands clenching like he was ready to throw a tantrum.
"no cawi-flowa." he lisped, glaring back, but he was clad in a baby blue hoodie, a paci clipped to the front so he didn't look very intimidating.
"i'll see what i can do." the caretaker laughed as he turned on a cartoon and made sure yoongi was settled on the couch before he started their meal.
one episode of catdog had passed, the little one incredibly entranced in the tv show as hobi worked his magic in the kitchen. the mac and cheese along with a bowl of broccoli were placed on the table because yoongi would lose his mind if there was cauliflower anywhere near his plate. midway through cooking wings for himself and nuggets for yoongi, hoseok heard a loud a banging at the door that made him jump and hit his head against a wood cabinet. he cursed under his breath so that his baby wouldn't hear, stalking past said baby curled up on the couch to peek through the peep-hole in the front door.
through the small opening, he saw a head of light brown hair, 2 helix piercings and a flash of intricate tattoo. furrowing his eyebrows in confusion and curiouty, he swung open the door.
"jungkook?" he asked softly, wide eyes taking in the blood on the teen's lower lip and a bruise forming on his right cheekbone.
jungkook flinched, even at how soft hoseok was speaking, like a scared, cornered animal. he sniffled, rubbing his nose with his jacket sleeve. he couldn't help but ramble, "i'm sorry that i just showed up, i just, jimin's at class and can't answer my calls, and-and i didn't know where to go, and it's like below zero outside, i think i'm getting a fever-"
hoseok pulled the teen, a student from his saturday classes, a truly sweet kid, into the warm apartment. "it's okay." he murmured, "i'll get you a few blankets and something warm to drink okay?" he lead him to a seat in the kitchen, feeling how tense the 19 year old's back was as they walked.
