My Brother's Best Friend

Chapter 9

Alex's POV

"Kids come to dinner!" I hear my mom say. I walk downstairs in no hurry at all, I'm not very excited to eat at all.

I reach downstairs and sit in between Jordyn and Mason, next to Mason is Tyler and then next to him is Kam, Jackson and then Natalie and then my mom and dad next to Jordyn's mom and dad and then next to Jordyn is her brother.

"Everyone dig in!" My mom says happily while her and Jordyn's mom cooked for us.

I almost feel bad about not eating but I do not want to throw up later. Everyone grabbed their food and Jordyn and I just sat there looking at each other.

I look at Ethan and Mase and they give Jordyn and I the 'I am gonna make sure you eat' face and I sigh, I'm up for a challenge any day, I sit back in my seat and relax.

"Alex why don't you eat this lovely food that our mothers have cooked they didn't do all this hard work for nothing did they?" Ethan says acting all innocent.

"Yeah Jordyn and Alex, I agree with Ethan, this food tastes amazing you should try it!" Mason says in the same tone as Ethan.

(A/N for any of you that are probably confused because I didn't really introduce Jordyns brother but her brother is Ethan for those who haven't figured it out!)

I look at Tyler and he looks at me confused and I look at him amused. He has no idea about our eating disorders does he?

Then I look at Kam, he looks disappointed and then pulls his phone out of his pocket and starts typing, I hear my phone ding along with Ethans, Jordyns, and Masons. Kam looks at us to tell us to read it, I pull out my phone and see I got a message in the group text,

I thought you went all the way to London to get better, I haven't seen much change, Alex please eat, I love you and can't lose you! - Kam

- Me

"Umm, may I be excused mom?" I say trying not to cry.

"Yes sweetie you may be excused." Mom says knowingly, I give a fake smile and stand up from my seat at the table.

I see Jordyn standing up and I shake my head saying she doesn't have to and she nods and sits back down.

I run upstairs and into my bedroom, I change into sweats and a t-shirt and cry in my bed wrapped in covers.

Jordyn's POV

After Alex left we all kinda sat there in silence, we made a bit of small talk but that's it. Suddenly my phone dings along with everyone else's in the group chat, we all pull out our phones to look.

I'm sorry that I ruined this dinner and Alex if you are reading this can I come upstairs with you? - Kam

Bud you didn't ruin dinner, it's okay you were just looking out for us. - Me

But Alex is my favorite sibling and you are my second favorite Jordyn even though you aren't blood related. - Kam

Hey I'm here ya know? - Mason

Everyone knows, but no one cares. - Ethan

Agreed. - Me

Yup diddo that! - Kam

Meanies. - Mason

I could practically hear the pout in his voice and then I look up from my phone and yup he is pouting, I frown realizing it doesn't even say that Alex has read these messages.

"Umm, mom may I please be excused?" Kam says.

"Yes sweetie you may." Alex's mom says.

Kam gets up from his seat and runs upstairs to Alex's room.

Kameron's POV

I run up to Alex's room, I feel really bad and I just want to be there for her right now.

I knock on the door and I can hear a muffled 'come in' so I open the door and there is Alex laying on her bed sprawled out and it looks as if she has been crying.

I almost start crying right then and there and I walk over to her so I can comfort her. She rolls over so she was on one side and facing me, I lay down next to her.

"Alex I am really sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I just care a lot about you, you and Jordyn are like my favorite people in the world even though that makes me sound weak." I say and she smiles at me,

"Kam you can never hurt me, I love you so much, you are my favorite too, I love you baby bro!" She says and then hugs me really tight, we just lay there for a while like that and we don't say anything.

"If you weren't hurt then why were you crying?" I ask very confused after a while of silence.

"Well I guess I was just very disappointed in myself for making other people feel bad and I really did try to eat, I'm just afraid of the consequences after eating." She says truthfully.

"Alex I am always here for you, remember that."

"I will remember that as long as you remember that I will always be here for you." She says and we lay in silence again and we both end up falling asleep.
