Shooting up from where I laid, My head began to thump wildly as I remembered where I was.
That was all a dream?
I swung my legs off my bed, slowly realizing what I was dreaming about. It felt so real, like I was in the enchanted forest like I was Snow White.
My feet touched the cold wooden floors, and I stood up, rubbing my temples. Making my way down to the kitchen, I pushed open the doors, looking for the chefs. Suddenly, one of them came into view with seven plates splayed down his arm. When he saw me, each of them dropped.
"Miss Lenaan! You've awoken!" His thick accent filled the air. The whole staff shuffled in and dropped all of their plates dramatically.
"Oh, we must alert your advisors!" He said, and then ordered the sous chef and lower-placed chefs to go and find them.
"My dears," Hearing that word and remembering how sickly the queen sounded when she said it gave me chills, "are you hungry? What would you like me to fix you anything?"
Furrowing my brows, I pretended to think, already knowing what I wanted.
"I think I'll take some chicken noodle soup, make it however you'd like, Cocinero. You alway make the best foods." I smiled.
"Åh, jeg lever for din ros min prinsesse!" He exclaimed, while running around the humongous silver kitchen. Everything was stainless steel, from the ovens to the knives. It reminded me of a prison really, but Concinero made it feel like a more relaxed space when he began belting out songs in danish.
Every one loved Concinero, he was my father's favorite chef, all the other ones weren't real and fun like Concinero is, and they definitely weren't prepared to take a bullet for the king.
Literally.

I heard a commotion behind me and when I turned I saw each of my advisors looking at me like I had disappeared for centuries only to turn up now.

"Your highness," They each took a turn bowing, "We thought you had slipped into a coma!" The top, closest one who actually to an interest in getting to know me exclaimed.
"No?" I frowned, "I was just asleep."
"Madame, you were asleep for two weeks." He approached slowly.
"Well, I had to get my beauty rest." I laughed, and then seeing that no one else enjoyed my joke as much as I did, I cleared my throat. "But I don't understand, how did I sleep for 336 hours. Did anyone try and wake me up?"
"Of course we did, your highness! We did everything we could possibly do. We had doctors watching you, and constantly checked your pulse! The only thing we couldn't do was feed you because we didn't have permission."
Remembering how hungry I was, I looked back to see Concinero still cooking away.
"That's very odd, sirs. I was only sleeping, though. No harm was done. I'm perfectly fine. I feel like I could eat a horse and drink an ocean, but I'm fine." As they each walked away, I looked down at my cold, bare feet. The tight shirt I wore made me look thinner.. or was I thinner? Walking into the bathroom I looked at myself. My cheeks were sunken, and I had slight bags under my eyes. But yes, I had lost a considerable amount of weight despite my already low amount of body fat. I would need lots of nourishments in the next few days to get back to normal weight.
Finding the kitchen again, my eyes scanned the area. When I didn't see my advisors, I chose to look other places. I spotted them walking into the boardroom before I called out to get their attention.
"Is there anything scheduled for today, sirs?" The three men exchanged looks and nodded.
"The masquerade ball will be held tonight. You will need to get your dress and mask fitted if you are to attend. It will be held in the grand hall and ballroom, the chefs have been making food all week."
"Alright then," as I turned to leave, I remembered something. "Sirs, what day is it?"
"It is August Seventh, madame... May I ask why you'd like to know?"
"Because, today will be the Blue Moon Masquerade. I want everyone invited to tonight. The attendees needs to be in something sparkly and consisting of one of three colors. Any others will not be allowed, and we can give them something to wear. I want dark blue velvet, black, and white. Tonight will be one of the prettiest of the year."
Each of them scrambled to write down what I was saying, and when they finished, each of them nodded.
"It will be done."
