Here's our interview with @HeiressofMystery, the winner of our memory contest. If you'd like to read the winning entry, go check out my reading list called Contest Winners and there you will find it.
Host: Ithildae
Guest: HeiressofMysteryIthildae: Question One: how long have you been on wattpad?
HeiressofMystery: On this account I've been here for about two months, but on my old account two years. So overall two years and two months.
Ithildae: Ah, very cool. Question Two: how did you discover it?
HeiressofMystery: I discovered Wattpad when I was looking for an app to read books for free, me being the bookworm I am. Discovering Wattpad, I was immediately hooked, especially by the romance, teen fiction, and fan fiction.
Ithildae: That's very interesting! I found Wattpad the same way! Now, Question Three: What's your favorite genre to write in?
HeiressofMystery: My favorite genres to write are romance, teen fiction, and fan fiction.
Ithildae: Haha, nice. Okay, Question Four: what (or who) inspires you to write?
HeiressofMystery: In my opinion, my pain, sadness, and anger inspires me to write. Being someone who suffers from mental illness, the best way to express my pain is through writing. Also, my first love inspires me a lot. :)
Ithildae: I see. That's a very interesting way to think about it! :) Question Five: Who's your favorite author (either on wattpad or in real life)
HeiressofMystery: On Wattpad my favorite author is (@cold_lady19) or Ariana Godoy, however she's not the only one as my favorite authors vary. In real life, my favorite author is hands down, J.K. Rowling.
Ithildae: She is a pretty great writer. :) Question Six: what book have you written (or are you writing/intend to write) that you are most proud of?
HeiressofMystery: The book I've written that I'm most proud of are my poems and short stories that are based on real stories. I'm also proud of my book Why Not?. Mainly because, those two books are based on true stories that I really wrote from my heart. Lastly, I'm proud of my books on my fan fiction account.
Ithildae: I see! :) Okay, Question Seven: what is your favorite aspect of writing? Or it's process?
HeiressofMystery: My favorite aspect of writing is definitely the whole process. Writing allows me to express feelings I can't say. And when I finally pull all my ideas together, it's such a feeling of accomplishment because at times I can have terrible writer's block.
Ithildae: Oh, I totally understand that. Okay, last question. Question Eight: what advice do you do have for other aspiring writers like yourself?
HeiressofMystery: My advice to aspiring writers has four parts. One, don't write for the views and the votes. It completely takes the joy out of something you really love doing. Second, never give up. At one point in my life, I let my writers block overcome me. Keep writing, even if it doesn't make sense, all your ideas will come together one day. Third, write with all your heart, soul, and mind. Right from the heart. Writing what you feel is the best kind of writing. Lastly, never let anyone say you can't write. I've had millions of people tell me I can't write well and look where I am. I'm doing what I love. I've written books on Wattpad that people enjoy and have won competitions. It will all come together, whether it be soon or later in the future.
Ithildae: Great advice! Thanks so much :) And congratulations on winning first place in our contest!
HeiressofMystery: Thank you so much! I appreciate this interview and I'm honored to have won first place!
Ithildae: You're welcome! It was our pleasure!
