Words are easily the most powerful thing that man has ever been given. Now some people think words to be feeble little things that are only there for communication purposes. Although that might be true, words can do so much more...

Words can control and influence life with ease. People say think before you speak because they understand, even if it is only barely, the power that lies concealed inside of words. Man is the dominant species on this planet for many reasons but mostly because man has words at his disposal. It is through words that we command animals to obey us, to bow down and to do our bidding. It is through words that we can tame the mightiest of the beasts, big and strong enough to rip us to rip us to shreds if they wished it so.

Words control all types of animals if used correctly, even those highest on the food chain. Yes us. It is through words that men have become Kings, dictators and lords. Words can build cities and erect kingdoms. Words can created legacies and tell the tales of legends. Words can give life and prosperity but at the same time bring death and cruelty. Words can be beautiful and gentle, but they can also be ugly and terrifying. It is only a handful of people who truly know the extent of words' power and even they are unable to fully wield it.

Words inspire greatness in all and any forms. It is through words that we create heroes and monarchs who risk dying every day to so that we can live. It is only through words that we can give hope to the hopeless and give certainty to the doubtful. Words can do good and make the world a better place, but it has a flipside that can devour and destroy. Words can eat at your soul and twist your mind. Words can take faith and make it into fear and take love and turn it into hate.

Words can create worlds and universes similar or different to ours. They give us perspective on things we never knew or experienced and they are used as an escape from this cruel world that misuses the power of words. They are powerful weapons more dangerous than tanks and grenades, because words do not just stop outside the shell of an armoured car, no. Words do something more potent; they penetrate the shell and lodge themselves inside the attacker's head! They plant the seed of doubt inside heads of the armada and cause a kingdoms fall. Words are the equivalent of a double edge sword, powerful and potent and made for attack and defence.

Words do not only bring fear and pain, but they bring love and life. The tale of man using words as weapons and gear to win the heart of the fair maiden is one as old as time. I mean in the game of love, the gentleman's most effective weapon is speech. The declaration of one's love and the complementation of the fair maiden's beauty. The list of words' uses and accomplishments in the game of love is endless. All one needs to do is explore...

Words are very much underappreciated because not all people understand all that words do for us. Some good, some bad and some neutral. Nevertheless, words are potent and meant to be treated with respect.
