Chapter 1: Summer Starts Out Hot
-Bex p.o.v.-

Aunt Eleanor pulled me straight into the kitchen, asking for help with the welcome back dinner, just as I had done last summer.

I agreed, helping her finish up the dinner. The chicken in the oven beeped at us and Aunt Eleanor asked me to pull it out. "Oh yeah, sure." I opened the oven and quickly reached in.

"Bex!" She screamed. There was a small bit of ruckus after that and the boys all stumbled in hurriedly.

"What?" I yelled back, turning to face her, the pan holding the chicken in my arms.

"What's going on?" Uncle Charlus ran in, looking around for the source of the problem. "Bex!" He screamed at me.

"What?" I repeated, glancing around me. I didn't find any problems so I looked at them for the answer. "Why is everyone yelling? What's happening?"

The boys looked just as puzzled, but Peter soon spotted the problem, "Bex!"

"Someone tell me what is happening!" I screamed at them.

"Drop the pan!" Aunt Eleanor screamed at me.

In confusion I followed her order and dropped the pan. It landed with a clatter on the floor, the chicken shifting in the pan. "Why did you tell me to drop it?" I looked down at the pan, with a frown.

"Bex!" Remus screamed.

"Someone fucking tell me what is happening!" I screamed back at them.

"Your hands!" Aunt Eleanor finally told me, pointing to them in horror.

"What? My hands?" I frowned in confusion, looking at them. "Oh merde," I mumbled a curse word staring at them. "That's definitely not good."

Aunt Eleanor pushed me into the dining area, calling back over her shoulder, yelling orders at the boys. "Charlus get the first aid kit, James get some ice, Remus please get me some towels. Peter do you know where the cotton balls are? Would you get me some. Sirius get over here."

The boys all rushed off to do as they were told, getting the things Aunt Eleanor required. She sat me down and pulled out her wand, muttering some things and waving it over my hands. Nothing was happening so I figured it was because of my powers.

Poppy had told me before that healing spells didn't affect me. Only Andrew would be able to heal me.

"Aunt Eleanor," I began but she shushed me, murmuring more spells. Nothing happened.

Uncle Charlus rushed in the room, placing the kit on the table and sifting through it. He pulled out a vile of something, holding it out to me, "for the pain."

"Pain? I don't feel anything." I informed them. Both, Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Charlus, stopped and looked at me strangely.

"Nothing at all?" She asked.

"No. It's probably the heat in my system. I don't feel anything."

Sirius frowned at my hands, "how can you not feel any pain after holding a hot pan from at least thirty second. We can already see the burns, at least two degree burns. And you feel nothing?"

"Uh, no. But uhm, I should probably go home. Nothing you do will be able to fix the burns. I can have it fixed in about thirty minutes. As good as new."

Remus, Peter and James had all managed to join us with the supplies they needed to get.

"I'll be back, okay?" I stood, pulling my injured hand from her hands.
