Aiden's POV
Stiles and I awkwardly sit next to each other while our parents are opposite of us. My mom isn't the happiest with me staying with Melissa. "How's school?" Dad asks us.
"I'm top of my class," I say. He smiles proudly at me. Stiles scratches the back of his head.
"I'm getting...very low grades," he says. Both our parents groan.
"Your failing?"
"That depends on how you define failing."
"Not doing good in school. How would you define it?" Dad asks. Stiles looks at me.
"Trying your best, but not doing as well as expected." I snicker, covering my mouth. I stand up and go wash my plate. My mom walks beside me.
"You're still leaving with me." I glare at her.
"Whatever you say."

I walk into my room, deciding to stay here tonight since I don't feel comfortable being around Scott right now. I jump when I see Derek leaning around the wall, seeming to be in pain, but not too much.
He look at me before falling to tbe floor. I run over to him, kneeling down next to him. "What happened?" He takes deep, scratchy breaths. I grab the water bottle on my desk and place my hand on his neck to help him drink it, for his hands are shaking too badly.
"Peter," is all he can say, his eyes barely opening. He forces himself up, stretching. "I had to make sure your okay." I nod.
"I am," I say. He squeezes his eyes shut. "What's wrong?"
"Peters staying with me," he says. My eyes widen a little. I understand that he's his uncle, the last piece of biological family he has left, but that doesn't mean I support this.
"Why?" I ask too harshly.
"He could be useful. He's the one who helped me when I was younger, therefore he has more experience in everything," he tells me. "And he can fight. With what's happening, we can use anyone we can get." As much as I hate it, he's right. The assassins are starting to get more brave with their moves.
The door opens and Stiles comes in. He doesn't even seem surprised by Derek's presence. "Scotts here and demanding to speak to sourwolf." I will never understand that nickname.
"I'm not promising that I won't kill him," Derek tells us, then walking out and down the stairs. Stiles and I look at each other before we both sprint down the stairs, knowing he's not joking. Our parents look angry and frightened at the same time. Later I'm sure to get a lecture about still seeing him and having a boy in my room.
"You're letting him work with us? I didn't agree to this," Scott nearly yells. Derek rolls his eyes.
"You don't have much of a choice. You said it yourself, if we dony team up, one of us is going to die," he says. My mom gasps at the mention of death.
"I'm perfectly fine with you dying now," Scott says in a low voice. Stiles steps between them while I stay off to the side.
"Let's not get carried away here," my brother says with a stupid smile. "Neither if you, or your pack members will die. Scott, I'm your best friend, I'm always going to be on your side, but-"
"You've got to be kidding me!" Scott growls. My parents walk over and stand on either sides of me.
"How will this end?" My mom asks.
"You still have that spare coffee table in the garage right?" I ask. My dad nods. "Well your gonna need it." They groan and look back at the boys.
"Scott, you have to be realistic about this. Without them, you're not going to win this!" I say. His eyes land on me and he sighs. His eyes soften a little, but not too much.
"I'd be fine if Peter weren't involved. He turned us, Aid! He forced us to be apart of this terrible life-"
"I know, but there's nothing we can do to change it. I'm not in the mood for dying at the hands off faceless ninjas, so I don't care if he's involved your not." He shakes his head and walks out. Stiles claps his hands together.
"That was fun."

Allison's dad walks into her room as we study. She smiles at him as she sets her pencil down. "I have to go meet up with Hale. I'll be back before dinner," he says. He seems to just notice me. "Your his mate." Allison and I exchange nervous glances.
"Yes..."
"I'm sorry you've been put into this situation. You and your brother dony deserve it." Although he's been helping us with a lot of things, he still has that engraved hatred.
"I've learned to live with it. Thank you though, Mr.Argent."
