My past is boring, my present even more so but that one lonely girl who as a child, looked up to, worshipped, her boring past and cherished her present is probably the only thing that's lead me to survive for so long.
That girl who once was as much a part of me as I was of her!
Where did she go and why?
It's a question that haunts me for it has no answer.
Maybe that's why I did it, to find the answers ,- in doing so -find that missing part of me.
Anybody else though will probably tell you I did it to escape but that wouldn't be true.
It all started exactly one year, fifteen hours and twenty minutes ago .
For you see, once upon a time there was a girl who was alone in the world with no-relatives to care for her, no friends to take her in and no-one to protect her.
That girl was me and this is my story.
Ages five and six are a blur for me,I don't really remember much from before HillCrest Orphanage
And what I do isn't worth remembering , luckily I've always been smart so school is no problem and I can easily retain my scholarship but Midland High got sold and then I had nowhere to go or so, I thought.
I remember the day as if it's a TV show I always watch, for that was the day that everything changed.
Melody and Kara -our head social workers - had no idea what to do with me , there was no schools in Knight's Vale that would take a student so late in the year.Jai, knocked on the door and with it forever changed my life. Jai who looked like an archangel with his aristocratic build,his ebony locks and that mocking, yet proud sneer was not at all,
nervous,as if it was his right to be there and we were the intruders.
He was regal, as if the world was his to conquer and I well, I wanted to be the same or at least that's the reason I've told everyone." Excuse me, he sneered, I'm looking for Mirabelle Hunter who formerly attended Midland High"?
If she is willing I would like to enrol her in Lealta High for the Gifted and Talented.
There was no doubt that I was willing, Lealta High which literally meant Loyalty High was a school known for, not only being famous, exclusive, academically and socially gifted but also lucky. It was rumoured that to get rich in Lealta High was easier than getting a job. In fact I'd dreamt of going to Lealta High over the years only to be told by Kara and Melody that it was ridiculously expensive and "Not fair to be so frivolous on just one kid alone". So when a man who looked like he ruled the world arrived to offer me a gift that I'd wished for every birthday, Christmas, Easter and Halloween since I was ten arrived of course I'd say yes! Who wouldn't? Who could have known that Lealta High was filled with Mythicals....
I was stupid to think that this chance had come free without consequences, everything has it a price.
Only I never asked the price and so when the Piper came to collect...
