*MACY'S POV*

I woke slowly to the sound of a door closing shut into my apartment. My room-mate; Hollie.

'Holy shit Mac its half past 1 already!! get out of bed' she stared at me wide eyed. Although it was the afternoon already it was called for, i had had a super late night. As usual.

'Where've you been?' i said smirking, she hadn't returned last night so i assumed she slept at her 'friend' mark's house (again)

Hollie laughed happily 'i only slept at Mark's silly,' that's what i thought 'he's waiting in his car outside for me to get changed, says he has a big surprise for me today!!' she squealed grinning and running into her room to get changed. I was happy for her. Minutes later Hollie came rushing out towards the door of our apartment,

'I'm gona come home later, movie night?' she asked me

'we need one, but i can't tonight, i'm babysitting for this new family,'

'okay babe, well see ya later, and GET OUT OF BED!!' she shouted as she walked out

'haver fun with Mark!!' i called after her.

After a quick check of my social networks i pulled myself out of bed and into the shower, it was a nice mid-summer day out so i shaved all over and washed my long brown hair. I hopped out and wrapped a towel around my body, i ran to my wardrobe shivering cold and picked out some old black hotpants and my favourite Nirvana shirt. After i dried and got dressed i strolled into the bathroom and took a look at myself.

As a younger teen i had alot of issued with confidence, although i had learned to accept myself gradually that didn't mean i was happy with the way i looked. I just about had a gap in-between my thighs i couldn't seem to get rid of, no matter how much i ate and how little i exercised, my knees were bony and the rest of my body was too, people are always telling me i have a perfect figure and asking me how i got it but i guess i see myself differently. However i was blessed with my Mothers naturally tan, clear complexion and sky blue eyes. That was one of the only things i loved about myself, my eyes.

I applied some light eyeliner and a tiny bit of mascara, powder and bronsez then pulled my hair into a messy ponytail. I walked into the kitchen and stuck the kettle on. I needed coffee to function. The kettle clicked and i went to the cupboard to grab some instant granules but we were out,

'shit' i said to myself

I would have left it but i didnt get to sleep until at least 5 last night/ this morning and i had a new job later, so i slipped on some socks and my black docs, grabbed my handbag and headed for the door. i stepped into the warm Californian breeze and began walking to my usual coffee place down the street.

I walked down the street to the kind of hidden corner where sallys was located. The bell chimed as i walked in the door and Sally herself smiled at me from where she always stood behind the counter. I liked it here because it wasn't well known so there wasn't usually many people here, today there was a few more than usual, but it was still the same. I ordered my usual white coffee with 3 too many sugars and took a seat at my favourite booth by myself close to the counter.

I was lost in people watching the passers-by through the window when giggling noises from the queue caught my attention, i looked up and saw a small group of teenage girls in line looking at someone giggling. I followed their gaze and it led me to a boy standing at the front of the queue about to order, but when i looked at  him he was already looking at me with tired looking brown eyes. He was hot. The boy looked embarrased i had caught him looking and looked back to the counter bashfully after holding my gaze for the smallest moment.

I looked away and turned my attention back to the people outside the window. I walted to sneak a glance to the queue to see if the boy was still there but i didn't dare risk looking like a creep. There was something about him i just couldn't get out of my head.
