Taking one last look at his family, he walks out feeling the heated stares as he slams the door behind him. The officers turn their attention to the family to decuss what could be done. As the officers approach Ahmad every one slowly move away waiting to hear what the officers have come to bring. As this a private matter the officers requested to speak to Ahmad alone.
"Impossible" screamed Mrs. Hassan who was slowly breaking down, she couldn't let her suffer anymore. The officer slowly turned and reassured Mrs. Hassan that thy only have a few questions for Ahmad in which could help their investigation. Ahmad who have been silent since his brother outburst finally spoke.
"Let's go to my office" he stated. As Ahmad walks away with the officers to his office which held painful memories for him. As he approaches the door, memories of what took place in that room come flooding from the night of his wedding. Slowly he turns the knob as he officers watch him carefully noticing a sense of despair and unwillingness. As the door unlocks, Ahmad takes the first step coming face to face with picture of him and Amina smiling happily. He remembered that picture taken during the time his mother suggested a family day at the beach. His sister came and forced them to take a picture. She had screamed at them to sit closer next to each other. Leaving his memories to rest, he turns to the officers who are now in the room and have closed the door. The first officer took a long sigh as he pulled a paper of the folder he was holding.
"Mr. Hassan, you and Mrs. Hassan were married last year on May 3, 2015."
"Yes sir" replied Ahmad as he remembered his wedding day. Pulling him out of daze, the officer continued to the next question.
"Was she happy with the wedding, what I mean was it her choice to marry you or was her parents choice?"
Ahmad took a while seeming hesitant to answer.
"If you are asking was she forced, then no she wasn't. I have asked her myself if she decided to marry me or was it her parents and she have admitted that she whole heartedly decided" replied Ahmad remembering his conversation with Amina the day before the wedding. He saw that she was discouraged by the whole thing. The officers silently watch Ahmad as he began to draft away.
"Mr. Hassan had Amina been in any relationship with someone else besides you?"
That question hit home, Amina never admitted to being in a relationship with anyone but he was always doubtful after the event that took place in his office during their wedding night. He didn't know how to answer such question.
"I'm not sure, she told me she never been in a relationship" stated Ahmad half doubting himself. The officers seeing the conflict he's having asked the final question.
" do you believe it Mr. Hassan or did you doubt your wife?"
