Part 1 (Book three in "Finding Darkness")

~Astral~

The Agents and I, excluding Dark, close our eyes when the Light Forces call another meeting. Probably to see if we are done. I normally do not dread this meeting, but this time is different. I'm not even done yet. We're back in the empty space.

"Agents, report," our leader(s?) command.

3's group reports first. "The evil is cleared," 3 says.

"Good. 12, report."

I hesitate. "We...we have yet to capture him," I say, looking down. "Please, give us time! I believe we are close!"

"Very well. Only a few more weeks, but no more."

"Thank you." I sigh in relief.

"24, your report."

"Evil acquired," he reports. He gives me an arrogant grin, and I counter with an involuntary evil smirk. I suppose that some evil is still in me. 24 looks very surprised.

"Leaders, I think 12 is the evil!" he yells. "He gave me an evil look!"

"Now, why would I be the evil?" I ask with an air of mock innocence. "He was here before me. I suppose that the evil runs in the family."

"Agent 12, what do you mean by that?"

"I have recently found out that our target it Number 96 Black Mist and that he is also my own twin brother."

"Number 96...? I see..."

The tone catches my attention. "Is there something I must know about?"

"No, not now. Wake, Agents!"

I feel Shiro's fur rub against my leg, and I open my eyes to see the playful feline. I smile, but the nagging feeling that the Light Forces might be hiding something still lingers.
